Half day in Saint Émilion - Great tour with Daniella. enjoyed everything from the information she gave us on the mini bus, the visit to Saint Émilion as well as the wine shop and vineyard. Really well worth the trip.

A great tour to St Emillion. - We really enjoyed our morning tour to St Emillion. Marie was very engaging and gave us a lot of great information about wine making in the area. The visit to St Emillion included a walk around the village but some of the streets are quite steep, something to bear in mind if you have arthritic knees like me! There was an opportunity to have a tasting in a wine shop which was great as it focused on the wines from smaller producers in the area. And finally, a tour around a chateau just outside the village which was very informative. Would definitely recommend doing this tour and the half day to the Medoc as a contrast.

Friendly, informative and relaxed - highly recommend - We had a very enjoyable trip around St Emilion and the vinyard. In the end it was just me and my friend on the tour as the other two people who had booked on didn't turn up. I'm glad that the tourguide Julie didn't spend a long time waiting for them but kept to schedule. It meant that we had our own private tour and Julie was very informative, friendly and helpful. The vineyard was taken over a few years ago by a young couple and it felt as though we were seeing the next generation of young wine makers. Their passion and enthusiasm for their work was clear to see and infectious.

Look no further. Best tour in Bordeaux! - Tim and crew were beyond hospitable and knowledgeable during our tour and tastings in St Emilion. This was our second trip with Tim because we loved the first one so much. Great agenda, food, wine and company. We also had our 6 month old with us and he was so kind and accommodating. Highly recommend!!

Wonderful experience to cherish forever! - My boyfriend and I enjoyed a fantastic trip with Rustic Vines for a half day wine tour in St Emillion. We met with our incredible tour guide, Aline, at the Rustic Vines tour office in the city centre and were told it would just be us two for the tour which was very special! Aline drove us down to St Emillion in the minivan (spacious and air conditioned) after a brief introduction at the office. She spent the journey teaching us about local vineyards, classifications and everything in between. Her passion was contagious! Aline has a wealth of knowledge, and answered every single one of our questions with confidence in perfect English. She really made the entire experience that bit more special for us - she became like a friend! Once we arrived and parked up, we took a walk down through the Church at the top of the medieval city, down the steep cobbled path (sensible shoes advised!) and wandered around as Aline gave us an introduction to St Emillion’s rich history. Be sure to try a Macaron on your way down the cobbled street - they’re famous! Once we reached the bottom, we settled in a boutique wine shop to sample a few (fabulous) wines. After some time, Aline then took us for a drive down to Chateau Jean Faure where we met with another lovely representative named Clement. He took us round the vineyard as we followed the journey of their grapes from vine to bottle. We then settled in the Chateau to sample some more wines produced by them. It’s worth noting that Rustic Vines has connections with many chateaux around St Emillion, and they alternate between them. We had no idea which one we’d visit, so it was a great surprise. The experience was worth every penny and we felt entirely satisfied by the end of the trip. It’s truly an experience that you’ll cherish forever. We tasted plenty of wines and we were able to really take our time and enjoy every aspect of the excursion (we even ordered 12 bottles to be shipped back home to London!). The half day option is great if you’ve only got a few days to spend in Bordeaux, as you’ll be back in the city by lunchtime. It was the perfect experience for a wine lover visiting Bordeaux, and the reason Rustic Vines is top rated on trip advisor is entirely justified!

Fun but rainy - We had a lovely time driving out to St. Emilion region with our hosts. The ladies were very knowledgeable and fun to talk with. It was a beautiful drive and all of the fall leaves were changing color along the countryside. Once in the town we were walked though the church and then to a wine store where we got to try several local styles (and got a case shipped home!) before grabbing some sweets from a local shop. Then on to a local chateau to see their vineyard, as well as the barrels and tanks. It was fun and we enjoyed learning about the wine making process. Being the end of November however, it was past harvest season and it was also raining for most of the tour (we had umbrellas so not too bad), so I think this tour would be best enjoyed during the spring and summer months. Overall, still a fun experience!

Nice introduction to wines - Our party of 4 was joined by another 2 couples on our trip to Saint Emillion. Daniella from Equador who is studying for a masters in wine tourism in Bordeaux was our driver and guide. Our group of 4 only signed up for the morning tour to Saint Emillion while the reminder of the group signed up for the full day tour of the Saint Emillion and Medoc regions. Daniella was a good driver but I must say 8 people plus driver are too many to cram into a van with 3 rows of seats. The middle front seat was not particularly comfortable. Daniella provided a nice overview of the wine regions and the type of wines grown in the Bordeaux area and a walk through Saint Emillion. We visited a wine shop in Saint Emillion where Natalie provided a good demonstration, education and tasting of 4 different wines. We then went to a Chateau where another guide provided an interesting tour of the wine growing and making process followed by another tasting of 4 wines. Our tour ended with a drive back to Bordeaux where we understand the other 4 were having lunch at the office. I am not sure if this is always part of the full day tour or if this was necessitated because half the group was only doing a half day tour. The half day tour was perfect for us since we are not oenophiles. It was a lovely morning drive through the wine country, a nice walk, and some good wine tastings.
