Amazing day! - Although I am not a morning person, this was definitely worth getting out of bed for. Alex was an excellent, knowledgeable guide with many a story up his sleeve. He was funny and had impeccable timing! The Peles castle was beautiful inside and out. Brasov offered great opportunity for a break with crepes and fab vin fiert (mulled wine). The Bran castle was a typical tourist attraction that probably did not know what to do with itself. Fantastic as a medieval fortress with a rich history but spoiled a bit by slightly cheap looking Dracula-inspired decorations. The location, however, was STUNNING. The driver handled the journey with skill, making for a wonderful day all in all. One word of caution: don’t forget the CASH for the admissions!

Best Transylvania Experience! - We loved this tour! The tour was well planed, and Adrian was very knowledgeable and informative on everything we saw. He was humorous and kept us in good spirits the whole time. We felt as if we saw everything we had imagined, and felt like we had learned something. 10/10 experience, would recommend.

Serban and Peles Castle - Fabulous tour - albeit over a 12 hour trip, Serban our guide and driver was unbelievable, early, polite, extremely knowledgeable and a FIRST CLASS DRIVER, Peles Castle, Draculas Castle (be prepared to be disappointed - my Dracula defence props weren’t needed 😂) and Brasov was a lovely old town with a beautiful square and wonderful church

AMAZING - We left very early at 7am on
Morning our guide Nicoleta the night before sent us a message on whatsapp to confirm the appointment and rightly asking to be on time (in perfect Italian) the tour is really worth the first because explained very well by our friendly guide and not even intrusive left us very free .. independently. Before arriving at each point he always told us where to meet and if on the way back he did not see someone ready to call on the mobile a thank you even Cosmin the driver!! Told us where to go to eat super helpful throughout!! When you make your reservation ask for them! Really great thanks and I hope you can read this review made really from the heart!! Nicoleta we are waiting for you in Italy!

A trip outside Bucharest - The trip was very nice, the very charming landscapes and Nicoleta's explanations made everything much more beautiful. The Nicoleta/Cosmin team allowed the ride to be smooth and without wasting time. What I liked the least is paying 20€ for the visit of Dracula Castle which is very nice but seems high compared to the rest. The time to eat in the town of Brasov passes very quickly because the restaurants are very slow in service so I recommend bringing something if you want to take a tour of the city. Instead the castle of Peles will only be seen from the outside because it is under renovation and is closed. Too bad.

Mixed experience – worth it, but watch out for extra costs - The tour itself was well-organized, and I feel that the price I paid was fair considering the long hours spent on the road (around 8 in total). That being said, there were a few aspects that could be improved.
First, entrance fees to the castles were not included, which wasn’t a problem in itself, but the way it was handled was questionable. On the bus, we were told we had to pay in cash for both Peles and Bran, at a price significantly higher than the official ticket prices. Considering there are likely group discounts, this didn’t sit right with me. Luckily, I was smart enough to buy my own tickets in advance, saving quite a bit of money. Even better, unlike the rest of the group, I was able to visit the upper floor of Peles Castle—something that wasn’t included in the overpriced tickets the guide offered.
Speaking of Peles Castle, the guide confidently told the group we would visit the Imperial Suite, located on the upper floor. This would have been great… except that we were only given one hour to see the entire castle, which was clearly too ambitious. Unsurprisingly, the group only had time to visit the lower level. Meanwhile, we were given 1 hour and 40 minutes at Bran Castle, which, let’s be honest, is mostly a tourist trap. Perhaps a better balance between the two would improve the experience.
Another odd moment was when I told the guide I had already bought my own tickets. Instead of acknowledging this, I was informed that there was an option to pay an additional €10 for “insurance and something else”, which was never really explained. At this point, it became pretty clear that squeezing extra money out of tourists was part of the plan.
Overall, the locations were stunning, and the tour was convenient, but be prepared for extra charges and some logistical shortcomings. If you go, I highly recommend buying your own tickets in advance—it’s a small effort that saves you money and might even give you a better experience.

Alex was a rude tour guide! Would not recommend. Go somewhere else. - The coach arrived on time. It was clean. The driver i had no issues with. This aspect seemed fine.
The tour guide, Alex was rude and let down the trip, for us. He would randomly pick on people for the most minor things like standing up to get something from their bag, or not standing close enough to him quickly enough after exiting the coach, and he did this in an obnoxious and confrontational manner, rather than. Just being polite about it.
To us personally, he was rude to us because we had already pre-purchased castle tickets from the official websites to be prepared. This meant we didn't buy his "package". The official tickets we paid for cost 70 Lei. He was selling his package for 100 Lei. He charged everyone else on the coach 30 Lei extra each for a story about Vlad the impaler and some pretty weird jokes that went over most people's heads. It was a bad stand up act on the bus for 20 minutes, that he made people pay for. He didn't guide anyone around the castle or explain the building to them. He called us out in front of everyone for not buying this package and already having our tickets ready, and told us we were lucky he didn't leave us out in the cold whilst he told everyone the story on the coach. Weird, rude and shady behaviour preying on the ignorance of tourists. Nothing about this coach trip indicated that there was any package involved and is advertised as a normal coach trip, so it was normal for us to have our tickets ready.
Now for the trip itself. I unfortunately can't recommend it. We were lucky because the snow made the forests of transylvania look beautiful, and Brans castle looked cool from the outside, however outside of that the castle was a pure nothing. There was nothing historical in it, and nothing to browse or look at. It was tacky and filled with ugly merchandise typical of European tourist attractions. There was no depth to this trip and if it wasn't snowing I probably would've hated it, because the snow was novel to me. The castle itself is not worth visiting and travelling all day for. You are done in 5 minutes and there's nothing to see or do. It feels a bit like a cheap haunted house you'd find d at a theme park, It is a tourist trap plain and simple. If it's snowing you'll have some nice photos, but just go somewhere else in europe. There are much better tourist experiences for castles in Wales, England, Spain, Greece etc. Way more to see/do with a deeper historic foundation and nicer locals!

Horrible experience – Avoid this tour! - Our guide, Alex, was one of the worst I’ve ever encountered. He tried to force us into buying overpriced tickets from him, and when we refused, he became extremely rude. He told us that since we didn’t pay him, he wouldn’t even answer if we asked where the toilets were. He also said that while he would explain the history of the castle to those who paid him, the rest of us could “wait in the cold.”
To make matters worse, he even left five people behind at a stop and seemed to enjoy it. Instead of treating all guests with respect, he humiliated and ignored those who didn’t buy from him. His behavior was unprofessional, petty, and completely unacceptable.
This was by far one of the worst guided tour experiences I’ve ever had. Do yourself a favor and stay far away from this company!

Nice Tour, rude Guide – Not Recommended with This Company - I had a very disappointing experience on this tour, and the main issue was our guide, Alex. While the places we visited were beautiful, his attitude completely ruined the experience.
First, he insisted that we buy castle tickets from him. As a student, I showed my valid German student ID to get the discount, but he dismissed it as "invalid" based on what he claimed were the castle employees' policies. My university only issues digital IDs, but he refused to acknowledge that. When I politely asked to buy the tickets myself to ensure my friends and I got the student discount, he outright refused to tell me where or how to purchase them. It’s shocking that after 20 years as a tour guide, he "doesn’t know" how to buy tickets.
The issue wasn’t buying the tickets ourselves—we knew about that already. The problem was how he tried to scam us into buying tickets from him for nearly €100 more. That would have been fine if he had been honest about it and treated us with respect. Instead, he was rude, dismissive, and aggressive just because we didn’t want to overpay him. And let’s not forget, the tour guide is already paid for the service (which is clearly listed under "what's included").
The situation escalated when, according to his own words, "15 people refused to buy tickets from him, so he would not offer them any service." He even went as far as saying that he wouldn’t wait for anyone who didn’t pay him after 11 AM at the first castle—yet if someone who did pay had an emergency, we were expected to wait for them. Throughout the day, he left four people behind at the first stop and two at the second, seemingly enjoying his role as "the boss" while treating paying customers terribly.
For anyone considering this tour, you can buy the tickets yourself here:
🔹 Peles Castle tickets (buy the 1st ground tickets, not Pelisor Castle)
🔹 Bran Castle tickets
And yes, they did accept our student IDs.
Alex is by far one of the worst tour guides I have ever encountered. His behavior was rude, unprofessional, and borderline scammy. It’s shocking to feel so unwelcome and deceived in an otherwise lovely place like Bucharest. I strongly advise avoiding tours with him and his company.
