Entering from one of its main gates Bab El Fotouh you will walk through this open air museum which is approximately one kilometre long. Many monuments including mosques, sabeel’s (water serving plass for passers by) and kuttabs the traditional schools at that time. Traditional baths and Islamic old Cairo gates like Bab El Fotouh, Bab El Nasr and Bab Zeweila. The tour then takes you to Khan El Khalili Bazaar which is located in the alley ways stemming from Al Muizz street.

High quality, personalized tour by Zizou - Excellent experience as a US woman travelling alone. Zizou was my guide for the Islamic Walking tour. He is a fountain of knowledge on Egyptian history from ancient to modern, literature, music, religion, society and just about any question I could come up with. Zizou adjusted the tour en route according to my interests, providing experiences that would not have been possible on my own or with a group tour. In just 4 hours, we covered historical sites, shopping, traditional music, craftmaking and tea in a tiny cafe. On the basics of Deluxe Travel - quick and easy booking process, great price, excellent transportation services. I have booked Zizou for another 2 tours while in Cairo!

Great layover tour and experience! - We had a 12 layover tour with airport pick up and drop off. Our guide Zizou was amazing. The experience was perfect from beginning to end. Zizou is very kind and knowledgeable. He made sure our family of 4 was well taken care of the entire time. He tailored our tour to maximize our time and did a great job in giving us an authentic Cairo experience. 100% recommend!!

A relaxing half day tour - Zizou was our tour guide and he was very knowledgeable of Egyptian history and culture. We saw the Al-Azhar Mosque where Zizou shared his knowledge of Egyptian history. Afterwards, we visited the Kan el Khalili bazar, where we had a chance to purchase souvenirs and see jewelry and perfumes. If you want to spend half a day on a tour I would recommend this one. And if you can get Zizou as your tour guide you’ll be in good hands.

A lovely day with Mr Zizou - An incredible day with Mr Zizou in Old Cairo.
Zizou is extremely knowledgeable and gave us a detailed and interesting tour. We visited two mosques and walked around old Cairo. We had a lovely insight into life here and learned a lot about the history of the area and of Cairo. He was also kind enough to negotiate great prices on some brass items we purchased. Thank you!

Awesome tour with experienced guide - We were very lucky to be led by Zizou our guide and our driver Omar who drove us safely in the crazy traffic of Cairo.
We appreciated the big cultural, historical knowledge and the very good English skills Zizou‘s. Though we are from a different cultural background we all have a lot to laugh about. TripAdviser offered a great tour.

Splendid way to immerse in the Egyptian Islamic culture - Exploring the historic neighborhood of Islamic Cairo was both educational and entertaining: you are literally walking through the open-air museum full of mosques, madrasas and Islamic cultural heritage. And entering Khan El Khalili bazaar is like entering a bee-hive of traditional craft shops. Overall a memorable, lively and colorful experience brought to life by our professional and knowledgeable guide Zizou. His knowledge on the Egyptian history is truly impressive. Thank you, Zizou!
