A Journey to the Brazilian Switzerland

As a biologist and environmental activist, I am always on the lookout for destinations that offer a blend of natural beauty and cultural richness. Campos do Jordão, often referred to as the “Brazilian Switzerland,” seemed like the perfect getaway. Nestled high in the mountains, this charming town promised a unique experience with its German-inspired architecture and breathtaking views.

The holiday traffic was intense, but it gave us ample time to soak in the views from the comfort of our vehicle. Isaac offered to stop for photos or a meal, but we chose to continue our journey, eager to explore more of what the town had to offer.

Our adventure continued at Parque do Itapeva, a highlight of the trip. Standing at over 2,000 meters, the peak offered panoramic views of the Paraíba Valley that were nothing short of spectacular. The day concluded with a visit to Ducha de Prata, a series of man-made waterfalls that, while not as impressive as the natural wonders we had seen, provided a charming backdrop for photos. The park’s relaxed atmosphere was the perfect way to wind down after a day of exploration.
