Rabat - Head north to the blue-hued streets of Chefchaouen in the Rif Mountains, stopping along the way in the present-day capital city of Rabat. Explore the medieval fortification of the Chellah Necropolis and wander its Roman and Islamic ruins. Visit the Bab Oudaia gate and the Kasbah des Oudaias. Next, visit the Hassan Tower, a minaret of the incomplete mosque, and the Mausoleum of Mohamed V.
Chefchaouen Medina - Continue Carry on the north to Chefchaouen. Wander the steep, cobbled streets and enjoy the picturesque blue-hued buildings. Relax in Plaza Uta el-Hammam with a mint tea before browsing colorful wares in the many shops. Visit the nearby kasbah (fort or fortification) and explore the 15th-century fortress and dungeon. As the day draws to a close, make your way uphill to the abandoned white Spanish Mosque to enjoy one last view of Chefchaouen as the sun sets behind the mountains.
Chefchaouen⇨ Volubilis ⇨ Meknes ⇨ Fes
Volubilis - We leave Chefchaouen and cross the Rif mountains to arrive at the ancient Roman town — Unisco Word Heritage Site- we will discover its mosaic floors, basilica, temple and triumphal arch. We then head to the Holy town of Moulay Driss (a pilgrimage for Moroccans )
Meknes Medina - After Lunch in the town, we continue our journey to Meknes where you will explore: The huge gate of Mansour, the Granary, The Swani basin, the old medina with its souks, and Landim Square where you will relax in one of its cafes. In the late afternoon, We set off for Fes. Overnight in a traditional riad in the Medina
Fes Sightseeing
Fes el-Bali - Meet your driver and head south toward Fes. On arrival, your private guide will lead you through the twisting maze of cobbled streets as you pass markets, shops, mosques, and more. You’ll explore the souks, learn about medieval Marinid architecture, and visit historical monuments as you absorb Fes’ old-fashioned charm. Pass through the Blue Gate (Bab Boujloud), a Moorish gate with three arches, and the old town’s main entrance, walking into the bustling souks. Here, you’ll find unusual, hand-crafted goods such as bright rugs, jewelry, leather goods, and of course, huge towers of spices.
Chouara Tannery - Make a visit to Chouara Tannery, with its large assortment of leather dyes and centuries-old techniques, then head to the ninth-century Al-Qarawiyyin Mosque and University, the world’s oldest continuously operating university. You’ll also stop at either Bou Inania Madrasa or Al Attarine Madrasa, two 14th-century schools featuring beautiful Marinid and Moroccan architecture. Visit the Jewish district of Mellah and the Royal Palace of Fes, or check out a museum, like the Borj Nord, with its collection of weapons and armor from several eras and incredible rooftop views.
Fes - Stop in at a local restaurant to sample some Moroccan cuisine before returning to your riad for the night, or if you’d like to go the extra mile and truly immerse yourself in the local gastronomy, join a local family for dinner in the medina. This is an incredibly unique opportunity and one that not many visitors get to experience. You’ll learn the history of various cuisines, recipes, and ingredients from the direct source as you chat and mingle with a joyful Moroccan family. Fes ⇨ Ifran ⇨ Cedar Forest ⇨ Midelt ⇨ Ziz Valley ⇨ Sahara Desert
Ifrane National Park - This morning, your driver will take you to your next stop, Merzouga. Along the way, you’ll travel through the scenic High Atlas mountains, passing the picturesque alpine villages that have earned this area the nickname “Little Switzerland”.
When you get back on the road, you’ll climb to an elevation of 7,146 feet (2,178 m) over the Col du Zad Pass to be greeted by stunning views and dense cedar forests—truly another side to Morocco! you will enjoy watching out for families of Barbary macaque monkeys, which can be spotted socializing in the trees.
Have lunch in Midelt and continue over the Tizi-n-Talremt Pass and into the Ziz Valley, known for its hidden oases and clusters of palm trees. Keep an eye out for the ksars along the way, communal fortifications built by merchants in earlier times to protect their goods.
Erfoud - Next stop is Erfoud, a bustling market town famous for its annual Date Festival, fossil mining, and artisan factories. Your driver will take you to visit an artisan collective to see how the fossil-rich rock is transformed into beautiful tables, plates, and bowls. Continuing on your drive, you’ll soon see the sand waves of Erg Chebbi in the distance. The Erg Chebbi is an extensive set of dunes with peaks rising over 650 feet (200 m).
Erg Chebbi - Next up is a highlight of the day—your driver can take a break because you’ll reach your accommodation in Merzouga via camel. You will love the sensation of gliding over the sands on these “ships of the desert.” Arrive at your luxury camp just in time to watch the sunset from the nearest dune. Head back down for dinner by the campfire, and an enchanting evening under the stars listening to traditional Berber music played by locals before retiring to your tents.
Merzouga ⇨ Rissani ⇨ Todra Gorges ⇨ Dades Valley
Merzouga Desert - Get up early this morning to watch a spectacular desert sunrise. After breakfast, your driver will take you to your next stop, the relaxing palm grove of Dades. You’ll have several breaks along the way, the first being the town of Rissani. Enjoy exploring its busy market and observing its famous livestock auction. Pop into Maison Tuareg, for a chance to see traditional arts and crafts, including carpets, jewelry, and leather goods.
You’ll continue to Tinghir, with its panoramic views and fascinating Jewish quarter, and then to the striking Todra Gorge with its 984-foot (300 m) high red-stained limestone cliffs. Take an easy walk or paddle in the cool water before you hit the road again and pass through the Valley of a Thousand Kasbahs (historic defense fortresses). You’ll pass through several small towns around here; be on the lookout for nomads tending to their animals, and traditional farms.
Dades Gorges - Continue to Dades Valley where you will see the fascinating
rock formations known locally as “monkies fingers” and beautiful mud Kasbahs. Overnight in a hotel overlooking the valley.
Dades Valley ⇨ Rose Town ⇨ Ouarzazate ⇨ Ait Benhaddou ⇨ Marrakech
Ouarzazate - You will be heading to exciting Marrakesh today. Start early for plenty of time to explore. Head back through the Dadès Valley—stop off at the Rose Collective if you missed it last time. Next, take a break in Ouarzazate. This picturesque town is the center of Morocco’s film industry and has featured in many famous productions—think “Black Hawk Down,” “Prometheus,” or “Game of Thrones.” You might enjoy touring the movie studio there or visiting the Musée du Cinema.
Ait Ben Haddou - Just out of town, you’ll discover the Taourirt Kasbah, an impressive fortified citadel in a spectacular alpine setting. Drive onward, and explore the alleys and passageways of the UNESCO-listed medieval kasbah of Aït Benhaddou. Next, you’ll head over to the Tizi n’Tichka Pass—enjoy the sweeping vistas over the peaks. Make a stop in the town of Taddert and visit an argan oil cooperative. See firsthand how the precious oil is extracted from the argan nut for use in the health, food, and cosmetic industries. ure photos.
Marrakech - As you descend, you’ll enter the tranquility of the plains. Enjoy the last leg of this scenic drive and prepare yourselves for the vibrant bustle of Marrakesh. When you arrive, settle into your accommodation and head out to Jemaa el-Fna, the city’s main square. Alive with musicians, performers, games, and snake charmers, it’s the perfect contrast to the alpine and desert villages of the last few days. Visit one of the many food stalls and then head back to your accommodation for the night.

Medina of Marrakesh - After breakfast, meet your local private guide who will lead you through the old city of Marrakech. Along the way, your knowledgeable and energetic guide will regale you with the history and stories of the Medina, the Souk, and the Mellah neighborhoods of the Red City.
Jardin Majorelle - In the afternoon you’ll continue your private tour, exploring places like the Bahia and El Badii Palaces, and the Saadian Tombs. You’ll also see the Majorelle Gardens, an iconic garden retreat built over forty years ago by French painter Jacques Majorelle and later inhabited by famed designer Yves Saint Laurent.
Jemaa el-Fnaa - As the evening progresses, Jemaa el-Fna comes alive with musicians and storytellers, acrobats and dancers, and even snake charmers.
