Airport <-> Hotel Transfers - Casablanca - Upon arriving at Casablanca Airport (CMN), our team will warmly greet you and escort you to your hotel for the evening, ensuring a comfortable start to your journey.
If you arrive in Casablanca early in the day, we suggest taking the opportunity to visit the capital city of Rabat. Alternatively, you can combine both days and proceed directly to Fez.
Day 2: Rabat | Meknes | Volubilis | Fez
Meknes - Today, we will travel through Rabat and continue to Meknes, one of Morocco’s lesser-explored Imperial Cities.
Our first stop will be at the magnificent Bab Mansour, considered the most beautiful gateway in the Maghreb. Next, we will visit El Heri es-Souani, the impressive granary consisting of remarkable vaulted structures and stables built by Moulay Ismail’s soldiers. We will also visit the Moulay Ismail Mausoleum and the vibrant Place el-Hedim, where the renowned Haras stallion stables are located.
Just thirty minutes away from Meknes lie the Roman Ruins of Volubilis, boasting ancient olive presses, mansions, stunning mosaics, arches, and columns. We’ll also visit the sacred town of Moulay Idriss, perched overlooking the ruins.
In the later afternoon, we will arrive in Fez.
Day 3: Fez (Private Guided Tour)
Fes - Today, we will delve into the rich history of Morocco’s oldest city, Fez. Make sure to wear comfortable shoes to wander through its narrow alleys and winding streets.
Our exploration begins with a visit to the Royal Palace gate, the Jewish quarter (the Mellah), and Fez Jdid, an old-fashioned market established in the 16th century. We will guide you through all the culturally and historically significant sites, including the renowned Al Karaouine University, one of the oldest in the region. You will also experience the famous tanneries, the fascinating Attarine Madrasa, and the splendid Moulay Idriss Mausoleum.
After a tasty lunch, we will visit a local tiles cooperative and enjoy a panoramic view of the entire medina of Fez.
Day 4: Fes - Ifrane - Midelt - Merzouga
Ifrane - Following breakfast, we set off on a scenic journey towards Ifrane, a picturesque village nestled in the mountains often referred to as the “Switzerland of Morocco.” From there, we continue through Midelt and proceed to the enchanting town of Merzouga.
Throughout the journey, you will witness the breathtaking landscapes of the Middle Atlas and Higher Atlas mountains. We will make a stop at Azrou, a charming Berber village surrounded by the famous cedar forest, the largest in Morocco. As we approach Errachidia, take note of the transition from mountains to desert terrain.
Enjoy a delightful lunch in Errachidia, basking in the warm hospitality of the Berber people. Our journey continues through the lush Ziz Valley, offering panoramic views, until we reach Erfoud and Rissani. Finally, we arrive in Merzouga in the afternoon, where you will spend the night.
Day 5: Sahara Desert
Merzouga - After breakfast, a 4×4 vehicle will take you to explore the desert landscape, including the fascinating caves where natural desert fossils are found. Traverse the desert along the road used by the Paris Dakar rally, passing through black volcanic rock landscapes. In the desert, you will have the opportunity to meet a Tuareg family and experience their unique culture.
We will then visit the village of Khamlia, renowned for its African population and vibrant music. This village hosts an annual music and dance festival during the first week of August. Return to the hotel and prepare for a camel ride to the desert camp, where you will spend the night amidst the stunning dunes. Enjoy Berber music and indulge in sandboarding.
Day 6: Merzouga - Rissani - Dades Valley - Skoura
Rissani - Wake up early to witness the mesmerizing sunrise over the desert, capturing stunning photos before returning to the hotel on camelback.
We will continue our journey through Rissani and head toward Tinjedad for lunch. Along the way to Skoura, you can explore the Todra Gorge or the Dades Valley. Both options are gorgeous.
In the evening, we arrive at the Skoura palm grove, known as the Valley of Kasbahs, where you will spend the night. Alternatively, during the winter months or on the 4-star Deluxe version of this trip, you may have the option to stay in the Dades Valley or Ouarzazate.
Day 7: Skoura - Ait Ben Haddou - Marrakech
Skoura - After breakfast, we depart from Skoura and venture through Ouarzazate, often called the Moroccan Hollywood. Along the way, we stop at the majestic Ait Ben Haddou Kasbah, the largest Kasbah in Morocco, recognized as a UNESCO World Heritage site. This fortress was once a crucial stop for caravans traveling between the Sahara and Marrakech.
Continuing our journey, we traverse the High Atlas Mountains, offering panoramic views of beautiful Berber villages, until we finally reach Marrakech.
Day 8: Marrakech Guided Visit
Marrakech - After breakfast, immerse yourself in the vibrant atmosphere of Marrakech, often referred to as the “Red City” of Morocco. Our guided tour will take you to the city’s most important historical and cultural sites, including the stunning Majorelle Gardens, the iconic Koutoubia Tower, the intriguing Saadian Tombs, and the splendid Bahia Palace. Following lunch at a restaurant near the square, you can explore the bustling souks with their various handicrafts. In the afternoon, you will have some free time to discover other parts of the city at your leisure.
