Following a picturesque drive to Charteris Bay, participants will be equipped with kayaking gear and a lifejacket. Beginners are welcome, as the guide will cover the basics, including paddle techniques and safety instructions, ensuring everyone feels comfortable on the water.

The group will paddle to Quail Island, where they will discover its intriguing history; it was once a leper colony and later served as a training site for Antarctic expeditions. Today, it is a peaceful nature reserve. If the tide permits, the tour will also pass by a ship’s graveyard and explore sea caves on the island’s far side!

After a breathtaking morning on the water, the group will pause at one of Quail Island’s beautiful beaches for a picnic lunch. The afternoon offers the opportunity to explore the island’s walking trails, relax on the beach, or continue paddling with the guide.
