It is a site of historical and archaeological significance, dominated by a massive column of rock approximately 180 m (590 ft) high.

Minneriya National Park - Minneriya National Park is a national park in the North Central Province of Sri Lanka. The area was designated as a national park on 12 August 1997, having originally been declared a wildlife sanctuary in 1938. The reason for declaring the area as protected is to safeguard the catchment of Minneriya Tank and the wildlife of the surrounding area. The tank is of historical importance, having been built by King Mahasen in the third century AD. The park is a dry season feeding ground for the elephant population dwelling in the forests of Matale, Polonnaruwa, and Trincomalee districts. The park earned revenue of Rs. 10.7 million in the six months ending in August 2009. Along with Kaudulla and Girithale, Minneriya forms one of the 70 Important Bird Areas (IBAs) of Sri Lanka. The park is situated 182 kilometers (113 mi) from Colombo.

Dambulla Cave Temple - Dambulla is the largest and best-preserved cave temple complex in Sri Lanka. The rock towers 160 m over the surrounding plains. There are more than 80 documented caves in the surrounding area. Major attractions are spread over five caves, which contain statues and paintings. These paintings and statues are related to Gautama Buddha and his life. There are a total of 153 Buddha statues, three statues of Sri Lankan kings, and four statues of gods and goddesses. The latter include Vishnu and Ganesha. The murals cover an area of 2,100 square meters (23,000 sq ft). Depictions on the walls of the caves include the temptation by the demon Mara and Buddha’s first sermon.

Sri Muthumariamman Temple - Muthumariamman Temple or Arulmigu Sri Muthumari Amman Kovil is a Hindu temple in Matale, Sri Lanka. The prefix “Muthu” literally means “pearl”. “Mari” means rain and “Amman” means mother in Tamil language. The temple is dedicated to Mariamman, the goddess of rain and fertility.

Royal Botanical Gardens - Royal Botanic Gardens, Peradeniya, are about 5.5 km to the west of the city of Kandy in the Central Province of Sri Lanka. In 2016, the garden was visited by 1.2 million locals and 400,000 foreign visitors. It is near the Mahaweli River and is renowned for its collection of orchids.

Adventure LK White Water Rafting Kitulgala - Known for adventure sports, Kitulgala is a town located west of the road from Kandy to Nuwara Eliya. It’s a town situated amid thickly forested hills. It was once a filming location for David Lean’s 1957 Oscar-winning epic “Bridge on the River Kwai” on the banks of the Kelani River. Most visitors for adventure sports come from Colombo. Kitulgala’s main attraction is white water rafting, where you can ride the tides of the Kelani River.
