ARRIVAL IN DELHI & SIGHTSEEING

New Delhi - Upon arriving in Delhi and completing customs formalities, you will be greeted by an MTA Representative. Look for our representative holding a placard with your name outside Gate Number 4.

Begin your day with a visit to Old Delhi, also known as Shahjahanabad. Explore the renowned Jama Masjid, India’s largest Friday mosque, accommodating up to 20,000 worshippers. Afterward, enjoy a pedal rickshaw ride through the narrow lanes of the famous Chandni Chowk Market. Continue to Rajghat, the memorial of Mahatma Gandhi, the Father of the Nation. In the afternoon, visit the colonial monuments of Delhi, driving through Rajpath to see the Parliament House, the President’s House, and India Gate. Conclude your day with a visit to Qutub Minar, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Proceed to your hotel for check-in and an overnight stay in Delhi.

Mandawa - Transfer to Mandawa.

Mandawa is part of the SHEKHAWATI REGION and was a significant seat of power, featuring a fort complex and numerous historical buildings and havelis. Shekhawati is named after Rao Shekha, a Rajput chieftain who founded the Shekhawat Rajput dynasty in the early 15th century. Under his rule, Shekhawati thrived, experiencing significant growth in trade, art, and culture. Known for its magnificent havelis (traditional mansions), intricate frescoes, and opulent architecture, Shekhawati is often called the “Open-Air Art Gallery.”

Upon arrival at the hotel, visit the town famous for its ancient painted havelis in the Shekhawati style. Overnight stay in Mandawa.

MANDAWA - BIKANER (190 KM - 4 Hrs Approx)

Bikaner - Drive to Bikaner, located in the vast Thar Desert.

Bikaner is a historic city in the northwest part of Rajasthan, India. Founded in 1488 by Rao Bika, a Rathore prince and son of Rao Jodha, the founder of Jodhpur, Bikaner’s early history is closely tied to the Rathore clan of Rajputs. According to legend, Rao Bika left Jodhpur after a dispute with his father and established his own kingdom in the barren Thar Desert.

Upon arrival at the hotel, visit the Junagarh Fort and its museum. Built by Raja Raj Singh, who reigned from 1571-1611 and was a commander in the army of Mughal Emperor Akbar, the fort is considered one of the most beautiful fortresses in the world and a prime example of Rajput architecture. Overnight stay in Bikaner.

BIKANER - JAISALMER (330 KM - 6 Hrs Approx)

Jaisalmer - Proceed to Jaisalmer, crossing much of the Thar Desert near the Pakistan border. Jaisalmer is likely the most captivating destination of the entire trip. Upon arrival, check in to the hotel. In the afternoon, visit Vyas Chhatri, the cenotaphs of the royal family.

Vyas Chhatris, made of golden sandstone, showcase a blend of Rajasthani architecture. Built to honor sage Vyasa, who compiled the 300,000 verses of the epic Mahabharata, it is located on the northwest edge of the Brahmin cemetery. Known as the city’s sunset point, Vyas Chhatri offers a direct view of Jaisalmer Fort, with its carvings and tall dome pavilions being particularly noteworthy.

JAISALMER SIGHTSEEING

Jaisalmer - Spend a full day exploring Jaisalmer, a mesmerizing desert outpost that seems straight out of an Arabian Nights tale, with its stone bastions surrounding the medieval fort.

Nicknamed the “Golden City” for its sunset hues, Jaisalmer’s true essence lies in its fort, dating back to the 13th century and the oldest in Rajasthan. The fort, with its 99 bastions, is a living museum where a quarter of the city’s population resides. Its alleys are lined with numerous havelis, splendid yellow sandstone residences built by wealthy merchants, adorned with intricate carvings and sculptures. In the afternoon, take an excursion to the Sam Sand Dunes for a camel ride and to view the dunes. Overnight stay in Jaisalmer.

JAISALMER - JODHPUR (285 KM - 5 Hrs Approx)

Jodhpur - Proceed to Jodhpur. Upon arrival, check in to the hotel.

Jodhpur was the capital of the Marwar Kingdom, founded by Rao Jodha in the 15th century. The kingdom significantly influenced Rajasthan’s history and culture.

Visit the Mehrangarh Fort-Palace, built in the 15th century. Positioned at the edge of the Thar Desert, its walls are lined with cannons from various eras. Inside, the fort houses courtyards and palaces with extraordinary collections of royal artifacts, including howdahs, miniatures, furniture, clothes, and armor. Situated atop a rock in the center of Jodhpur, the fort offers a splendid view of the old city, known for its light blue buildings. Also, visit the Jaswant Thada museum, constructed from white marble.

JODHPUR - RANAKPUR - UDAIPUR (270 KM - 7 Hrs Approx)

Ranakpur - After breakfast, transfer to Udaipur, Rajasthan’s most romantic city. En route, stop to visit the magnificent Jain Temple of Ranakpur.

The Ranakpur Jain Temple, also known as Chaturmukha Dharana Vihara, is located in the Ranakpur village of Rajasthan. Dedicated to Lord Rishabdeva or Adinath, the first Tirthankara of Jainism, the temple is an architectural marvel with 29 halls, entirely constructed of light-colored marble. It is one of Jainism’s most important pilgrimage sites. Believed to have been built by Dharna Shah in the 15th century CE, a minister to the ruler of Mewar, Rana Kumbha, after a divine vision, the temple’s principal architect was Depa. Carved in white marble, it is one of Jainism’s five holiest places. Continue to Udaipur, check in upon arrival, and stay overnight.

UDAIPUR SIGHTSEEING

Udaipur - Begin your sightseeing in Udaipur, situated on the shores of Lake Pichola. Founded in 1568 by Maharaja Udai Singh II, Udaipur exemplifies typical Rajput architecture in all its elegance. The old city is filled with palaces, temples, and havelis, ranging from simple to extravagant. Udaipur boasts a rich cultural heritage and is a center for expressive arts, painting, miniatures, and crafts.

In the morning, visit the famous City Palace, with its numerous buildings and the museum of the local Maharana, the most powerful Maharaja of Rajasthan. Also, visit the majestic 17th-century Jagdish Temple, dedicated to Lord Vishnu. Spend the afternoon at leisure, with an excursion for a boat ride on Lake Pichola. Return to the hotel for an overnight stay in Udaipur.

UDAIPUR – CHITTORGARH - PUSHKAR (280 KM – 5.30 Hrs Excluding Stops)

Chittorgarh - Drive towards Pushkar, stopping en route to visit the fort of Chittorgarh.

Chittorgarh’s history is filled with tales of heroic resistance against foreign invasions. In the 14th century, the fort faced its first major test when besieged by the Delhi Sultanate under Alauddin Khilji. The siege lasted several months, with defenders led by Queen Padmini showing great bravery.

Chittorgarh faced further invasions by the Mughals and other dynasties over the centuries. In 1567, the fort was besieged by Mughal Emperor Akbar. Rana Udai Singh, the ruler of Mewar, and his son Maharana Pratap managed to escape, leading a fierce guerrilla war against the Mughals for years.

Visit the Kirti Stambh, Vijay Stambh, Krishna Temple, and Rani Padmavati Palace. Continue to Pushkar, check in upon arrival, and stay overnight.

PUSHKAR - JAIPUR (150 KM – 3 Hrs Excluding Stops)

Pushkar - Pushkar is renowned as a sacred pilgrimage site for Hindus. It is believed to be the abode of Lord Brahma, the creator of the universe, and is often referred to as “Tirtha Raj,” meaning the king of pilgrimage sites. The town is considered one of the five sacred dhams (pilgrimage sites) for devout Hindus. The centerpiece of Pushkar is the holy Pushkar Lake. According to legend, the lake was created when Lord Brahma dropped a lotus flower from his hand, and the spot where it fell became the lake. It is believed that taking a dip in the sacred waters of the lake during the Kartik Purnima festival can cleanse sins and provide spiritual liberation.

Pushkar is also home to the famous Brahma Temple, one of the few temples in the world dedicated to Lord Brahma.

After breakfast, visit the lake with its beautiful colorful ghats and pay a visit to the Brahma Temple. Afterward, proceed to Jaipur. Upon arrival, check in and stay overnight.

JAIPUR SIGHTSEEING

Jaipur - In the morning, take an excursion to Amber to visit the Fort of Man Singh, a splendid example of Rajput architecture. The fort, built in a dominant position atop a hill, was once the residence of the Maharaja of Jaipur. En route, take a photo stop at Hawa Mahal.

Later, visit the City Palace, a complex of princely buildings that include the private apartments of the Maharaja. Its museum, filled with carpets and miniatures, is unique in the world.

Adjacent to the palace is the Astronomical Observatory of Jai Singh, a 17th-century marvel. The observatory includes sophisticated tools for calculating eclipses and detecting the position of stars. Jaipur is famous for textiles and gemstones. Return to the hotel for an overnight stay.

JAIPUR - ABHANERI - FATEHPUR SIKRI - AGRA (260 Km – 5 Hrs Approx)

Abhaneri - Drive to Agra, stopping along the way at Abhaneri, a small village known for its historical and architectural significance. It is primarily known for two remarkable structures: the Chand Baori stepwell and the Harshat Mata Temple.

Chand Baori, also known as Abhaneri Stepwell, is one of the deepest and largest stepwells in India. Constructed in the 9th century by King Chanda of the Nikumbh dynasty, it served as a water reservoir and community gathering place. The stepwell is an architectural marvel with 3,500 symmetrical steps arranged in a precise geometric pattern, leading to a depth of over 100 feet. The intricate carvings and the sheer scale of the structure make it a mesmerizing sight.

Next, visit the Ghost City of Fatehpur Sikri, a city built in red sandstone by Emperor Akbar and abandoned after only twelve years of use. Continue to Agra.

AGRA SIGHTSEEING & DEPARTURE TO DELHI AIRPORT (200 Km – 3:30 hrs Approx)

Agra - Visit the magnificent Taj Mahal, an incredible legacy of Mughal architecture in India. Built by Emperor Shah Jahan in white marble and semi-precious stones in memory of his beloved wife Mumtaz Mahal, the Taj Mahal stands as a testament to their eternal love. Constructed between 1631 and 1653, it is a symbol of enduring love.

Proceed to Agra Fort, located a few kilometers from the Taj Mahal on the riverbank. The complex of palaces and royal gardens housed the Mughal rulers for many years. Built by Akbar from 1565 on the foundations of the old fort of the Lodi dynasty, it was later enlarged and modified by his successors. Afterward, transfer to Delhi. Upon arrival, you will be dropped off at the airport or any other location of your choice.
