Terrific Animal Finder - It was a small group of 4 of us so the guide could really answer our questions. Guide was terrific at finding animals for us to see. We went on the 7:30am tour. I appreciated the note to arrive early as there was a long line to buy tickets.

Great experience in the Cloud forest - Excellent tour led by Deiber (Roy’s brother). Special sights - Resplendent Quetzals and trogons. Deiber was a fascinating and enthusiastic guide. Unfortunately due to unseasonably dry weather the forest canopy wasn’t actually in mist which was good news for viewing but we couldn’t experience the magic of being in the clouds at the same time. Highly recommended.

Biodiversity Monteverde Cloude Forest - Monteverde Cloud Forest in Costa Rica is a treasure trove of natural beauty and biodiversity! It’s a vital corridor for wildlife, connecting species across different altitudes and forest types. We deeply appreciated lush vegetation and flora (strangler figs, ferns, and moss-covered trees, orchids, bromeliads, and epiphytes cling to branches) and incredible wildlife. Hanging bridge let us experiencing the ecosystem from a bird’s-eye view. During our stay in Monteverde Cloude Forest it was a sunny day, we did not experience the atmosphere of a forest shrouded in mist, where moisture condenses directly on leaves. Could it be a sign of climate change? Despite the crowding at the beginning of the paths, further hiking already in peace allowed to contemplate the diversity of the misty forest. Our guide was a very enthusiastic and competent person, who has shown us the magnificent biodiversity of it. Finally, after several days stays in Costa Rica, we saw resplendent quetzal with iridescent feathers. Amazing impression!

A Great Afternoon - Our guide, Loandry, made our afternoon a wonderful experience. His knowledge of the plants, animals, and history of Monteverde was extensive. He had a great sense of humour and made the day so much fun! The icing on the cake was when he spotted a Resplendent Quetzal. His photos were spectacular. We could not have had a better excursion.

Expert Guide - This tour is not to be missed! We saw so many birds and animals. Roy is an extremely knowledgeable and skilled guide with a passion for the natural habitat. He also has a great sense of humor and is a lot of fun. Not only did we see so much, but we learned so much. Apparently there are a lot of guides in the area, but I strongly recommend Roy and his company!

Must do! - The cloud forest is wonderful. It was lovely to see some bird species, walk over a hanging bridge and see a wonderful, all within a couple of hours. Our guide was very knowledgeable and went at a rhythm we could all follow. The foliage is incredible. Definitely recommend!

A window into the life of a cloud forest - We had an excellent and knowledgeable guide, full of interesting information. He spotted lots of wildlife that we would have missed. He was very adept with his ‘scope’ which helped us see distant creatures.

Not worth for a detour - The forest is beautiful, the guides are doing a good job finding animals and explaining the nature around, but all in all it was not worth the 2h detour to the mountains on awful roads. We found other parks more interesting and with more wildlife. Further, with the guids you will only explore a tiny bit near the entrance with 15 other guides and 100 other tourists. If you stay in Monteverde anyway I would rather explore the forest by myself. If you want to see a beautiful rainforest go to Carara. If you want to see wild animals go to Corovado.

Disappointing tour - This is not a hike; it is a torturously slow, short walk (maybe a mile over 2 hours). Our guide (not Roy, who was the reason we booked the tour) rarely spoke, and we learned nothing about the wildlife or ecosystem. We saw two monkeys and some birds but saw more of them at our breakfast restaurant. It was so boring that we left the tour early.
