Highlights
  • Denver Union Station - A historic landmark in the heart of the Mile High City for more than a century, Denver Union Station is a vibrant destination for gathering, dining, imbibing, shopping, traveling, and sleeping in luxury at The Crawford Hotel. First opened in 1881, rebuilt in 1914, and revitalized 100 years later in 2014, the Station is at once a preserved monument to the city’s past, a celebrated place maker of today, and a visionary beacon for Denver’s future.
  • Red Rocks Park and Amphitheatre - We will head to Red Rocks and do a short hike and explore for about 2 hours and have lunch there. We can do a 2 mile walk to get better views and then explore the Amphitheater and then the Musicians Hall of Fame museum afterwards.

Red Rocks s an open-air Amphitheater built into a rock structure in the western United States, near Morrison, Colorado, ten miles (16 km) west of Denver. There is a large, tilted, disc-shaped rock behind the stage, a huge vertical rock angled outwards from stage right, several large outcrops angled outwards from stage left and a seating area for up to 9,525.

  • Dinosaur Ridge - Here is where you can see and fossils and dinosaur tracks in the mountainside which was once a beach side 100 million years ago
  • RiNo Art District - We can walk down Larimar street where the RiNo art district is. There is dozens of fascinating murals over the buildings in this area.

As a former industrial hub, the RiNo Art District is a part of the historic neighborhoods of Five Points, Cole, Globeville and Elyria-Swansea in Denver, Colorado. During the turn of the last century the area was home to foundries, pattern shops and industrial uses that helped drive the economic success of Denver. As industry moved out of the city’s core in the late 80s and 90s, the corridor was left with several vacant warehouses and a failing infrastructure. During this time artists began to populate the area as prices were very affordable and the area was fertile ground for arts, artists and creatives.

  • Coors Field - Coors Field is a baseball stadium in downtown Denver, Colorado. It is the home field of Major League Baseball’s Colorado Rockies. Opened in 1995, the park is located in Denver’s Lower Downtown neighborhood, two blocks from Union Station. The stadium has a capacity of 50,144 people for baseball.
  • Dairy Block - Stylish urban complex with a range of buzzy bars & restaurants, plus upscale boutiques & a hotel.
  • Larimer Square - Historic district at the spot where Denver was founded, with independent shops, bars & restaurants.
  • Colorado State Capitol - Corinthian-style, gold-domed edifice offering tours, exhibits & photo ops at 1 mile above sea level. The Capitol building was designed by Elijah E. Myers, and its construction lasted from 1886 through 1901. The exterior walls of the Capitol are constructed of granite quarried near Gunnison, Colorado. The pink stone seen throughout the Capitol is rose onyx discovered near Beulah, Colorado. This coloration of onyx has never been found anywhere else in the world. The floors of the Capitol are constructed of yule marble from Marble, Colorado.

In 1908 Colorado gold miners made a gift of 200 ounces of gold to gild the dome. Rising 272 feet above the ground, the gleaming gold dome on the Colorado Capitol is a fitting tribute to the history of our state.

Great overall experience - It was a great experience overall. Jeremy was very knowledgable of the area and having just a short time in Denver this trip gave us the best overview of the city. My one grandson wasn't feeling well and Jeremy was very accommodating which was appreciated. I would definitely recommend this trip. It was nice that there were only the three of us in the van which allowed for a more personal one-on-one experience.

Visiting the high points of Denver - Great day with Jeremy! We walked up Dinosaur Ridge, to view the ancient footprints. Next he got me up to take photos at Red Rocks amphitheater (where I saw the Allman Brothers Band 40 years ago) despite several graduations being scheduled. Then back to town to visit the murals, again accommodating taking pictures of the ones I was most interested in. Next lunch at a very good Food Hall. After lunch we stopped at the confluence of Cherry Creek and the Platte River, Larimer Square, the Brown Palace Hotel (beautiful inside) and finally he located a memorial plaque at the Civic Center that had special meaning to my family. We could have gone on to visit several well known Denver parks but my knee needed a rest. So pleasant and interesting a tour. Highly recommend.

Talk Denver to Me - Red Rocks, Street Art and more! - Red Rocks is a place for music lovers to go! A natural amphitheater in a stunning setting. Inside the visitor centre you can see what performances have been held each year since it opened - very interesting! Back into town to have a look at some of the street art around the RiNo district of Denver. Then off to Union Station, Dairy Block, Larrimer Square and the Capitol Square among others. A wonderful day out. Thanks Jeremy for a great experience.
