During winter and spring, especially, Albania becomes a sanctuary for birds. You’ll be amazed by the vast wilderness you can explore just one hour and fifteen minutes away from a bustling city such as Tirana. Known as the land of the Eagle, it’s noteworthy that we may not spot many eagles on this trip.
For the best bird-watching experience, it’s advisable to begin early in the morning and reach the lagoons while the sun is not at its peak. We will change our viewing locations within the lagoon and observe the birds we come across. Local rangers will offer us the use of a telescope and possibly binoculars. It’s also feasible for us to bring a large military-grade binocular, previously used for enemy surveillance (that’s you), but it’s best to come equipped with your own quality gear.
