If only all city food tours were this good - This was superb. Garth was the platonic ideal of a food tour guide — smart, funny, experienced, and all over the subject matter. There were so many highlights over the three hours and not a single bad stop. And as I crawled into bed, having thoroughly over eaten, I was already plotting returning to the noodle stop, and the rice wine bar, and the donkey burger place, and the Chinese crepe stall, and the… — you get the idea. If you are in Beijing for more than 24 hrs, you should book this tour.

Delicious and fascinating tour personalized for your needs - Highly recommended! Our tour guide Garth was an encyclopedia of knowledge about Beijing history and the foods that help define the culture. A relaxed tour that filled our minds and our bellies. This is our second experience with untour (previously we joined a breakfast tour) and both trips were thoroughly enjoyed. Also, highly appreciate the ability and willingness to adapt to personal dietary restrictions without taking away from other members of the group. A great way to see secret culinary treats of Beijing.

Exploring Beijing’s Best Kept Foodie Secrets - We had an incredible food tour in Beijing with Gareth as our guide. His knowledge of both Beijing’s and China’s history and culture was impressive, and he added so much depth to our experience. The food was absolutely amazing, and each stop on the tour was unique, offering something new and authentic. It felt like we were uncovering hidden gems that you wouldn’t find in a guidebook or stumble upon on your own. The whole experience was intimate and personal, making it feel like a true discovery of Beijing’s culinary treasures. Highly recommended!

You won't go hungry. - The Hutong Breakfast tour was so good, I signed up for the Dinner tour. Again it was excellent, and hosted by Gareth. It was pouring rain on the night, but we ate our way around the old part of Beijing undeterred, if a little soggy. The food was amazing, and we visited out of the way local cafes that you would never find by yourself. Hotpot, Chicken Wings and everything in between. You won't go hungry. Eat everything and enjoy.

Great introduction into Beijing cuisine - Took the food tour on 16/09/2024 the evening we landed in Beijing and it was the best introduction we could’ve ever asked for! Garth was an amazing guide, he was really informative and knowledgable and answered all the groups’ questions. The tour is a great way to navigate Beijing and also get introduced into the traditional food, especially if you have a limited knowledge like us. We were absolutely stuffed by the end of it and very tipsy from the rice wine and beer! So overall an amazing experience, would 100% recommend.

Excellent Tour! Would recommend to anyone! - We went on this tour with two young children in strollers. Garth our tour guide was fantastic, he was an Australian who lived in China and spoke fluent Mandarin. He chose some fantastic restaurants and stops, explaining things in the perfect amount of detail, and could answer any questions we had. The food stops were amazing, hot pot, chicken wings, honey yoghurt to name a few. They were all excellent and could be tweaked a little if needed, for example less chilli, no coriander etc We didn’t have any dietary requirements, but I am sure if we did he would be able to accommodate. Lots of peanuts were used in the dishes and I asked about what they do if someone has a peanut allergy, he told me that he would call ahead, check the day before they went and on the day that peanuts were not used. Very reassuring. Everyone was great with the children, our host Garth was happy to hold the little ones whilst we ate, and all the restaurant staff wanted to take pictures and hold them too… Ample quantity of food, and drinks flowed freely. If you drink alcohol, try the local beer, it’s only 3% volume, but was very crisp and nice. I’ve done food tours all over the world, and I would honestly say this was the best. As for the

Absolutely not to be missed - Really exceptional tour to learn about the amazing cuisine of Beijing. Garth, the Guide, is very knowledgeable and kind. The tour allows you to eat in typical places that would otherwise be almost impossible to know. Moreover we are vegetarians and it was possible to eat at all stages.
