Experiencing another side to San Seb - Astrid is a gem, like meeting up with a friend for a few hours … to be so personable really sets the tone for a great walking tour that takes you to meet lesser known artisans and spots away from the pintxos trail (but including that briefly too).

A Perfect Culinary Adventure in San Sebastian’s Backstreets - The San Sebastian Culinary Backstreets FoodWalk was my fifth tour – a testament to how much I enjoy these excellent food experiences! Known for its rich food culture, San Sebastian offered us unique insights into its hidden gems. Our guide, Blanca, was incredibly enthusiastic and shared fascinating information and stories about each tasting spot we visited.

Great way to spend a day in San Sebastian - Astrid is great. She took us on an easy walk around the town with many stops for food, drink or just interesting things to see. There were 6 of us in the group. This is a super way to spend a day in San Sebastian.

A unique experience we couldn't have had on our own - We were only in San Sebastian for 2 days, and this was time very well spent. It was a great variety of local specialties, from the ubiquitous tortilla to bean-to-bar chocolate, local cheeses, and natural wines & ciders. From the traditional to the new, we sampled so many delicious things, with our guides providing background, history, personal stories, and overall expert, inside info. It is well worth the price and we look forward to doing other tours!

We really enjoyed not just learning about the culinary scene in San Sebastián and how it has developed but also a bit about history , social land domestic life here. From sampling tortillas through to ponchos , wine tasting and cheese sampling - it was a fascinating tour and we never felt rushed .

Basque Food Adventure - Selena’s culinary walking tour was absolutely fantastic, it was like we were meeting an old friend and visiting our favourite places in San Sebastian. The tour description says you will eat the most delectable tortilla, and you will! Eggy, oniony deliciousness that will easily eclipse anything you’ve already tried. The visit to the artisan chocolate store was an unexpected surprise, you definitely won’t leave without stocking up for your travels. Our final two stops, an organic wine store and brilliant little restaurant started by enterprising young chefs, left us feeling completely fulfilled. The tour group was small and very private, and Selena took the time to engage with everyone and answer whatever questions we came up with. Selena was extremely knowledgeable and even helped us with some brilliant suggestions for our upcoming visits beyond San Sebastian. We ‘d definitely recommend this to anyone who wants to take their time getting to know more about the city and the fantastic food, wine and cultural traditions of the Basque country in Spain.
