A 30-minute stop is made here for a restroom break and photographs.
• Sligachan Old Bridge - From Eilean Donan Castle, the journey continues for an hour to Sligachan, where legend has it that washing one’s face in the river for seven seconds grants eternal beauty.
• Fairy Pools - Departing Sligachan, the trip takes 45 minutes to reach The Fairy Pools, where 90 minutes are spent at this famous attraction, known for tales of Selkies (seal-like creatures) shedding their aquatic skins and bathing in the pools by moonlight.
• Portree - The drive from The Fairy Pools to Portree takes 45 minutes on a good day, with a stop for lunch and an opportunity to explore the main town on Skye.
• Fairy Glen - From Portree, a 15-minute drive up the west side of the Trotternish Peninsula leads to The Fairy Glen, a landscape reminiscent of another world - Fairyland.
• Inverness - Departing The Fairy Glen, the return journey to Inverness includes a brief stop at the Skye Candle Visitor Centre in Portree for a restroom break. The drive back to Inverness from Portree takes 2 hours and 15 minutes.
