The adventure continues to Stuðlagil Canyon, which boasts one of the country’s largest and most impressive basalt column formations. This picturesque canyon is particularly enchanting in early summer when the Jökulsá river displays a vibrant turquoise hue, transitioning to a silvery-grey by August as the Hálslón reservoir at Kárahnjúkar releases excess water.
