The Call of the Simien Mountains

As a wildlife photographer with a deep love for Africa, the allure of Ethiopia’s highest peak, Mt. Rasdejen, was irresistible. The Simien Mountains National Park, a UNESCO World Heritage site, promised not only breathtaking landscapes but also encounters with rare and endangered species. The thought of trekking through this majestic terrain, camera in hand, filled me with anticipation.

The journey began in Gondar, where our guide welcomed us with a warm smile. The drive to the park was a visual feast, with lush green valleys and dramatic cliffs unfolding before us.
