WHAT A PARADISE - Absolutely loved this excursion, it turned out to be more than I thought it was. My cousin and I just did a week in Jamaica , first time visiting and wanted to try the bamboo rafting with foot massage. We purchased through our hotel, Riu Reggae and I believe the excursion was 100$USD. Pick up was on time and such a nice driver, giving us history details along the way. From our resort it was about 45 minute drive but felt shorter with all the details / country to look at. We arrived and I was blown away, the estate is absolutely gorgeous, such a gem in the jungle literally. You have access to lockers for 10$USD, they have food and drinks available for purchase too and a gift shop. From here you get on a bus that drives you to the river. Rafting was amazing , amazing people working it , amazing sounds and colours, amazing experience. They also you to place your own much and they offer either rum punch or a coconut to enjoy, they row you down and allow you to take pictures and stuff , rub you down with the limestone and row you back. When you get back you can enjoy the paradise ! The centre has a lovely pool with water slide, lounge chairs … they also have the waterfall which was my absolute fave. We did our excursion and had about 2 hours to use the extras. I loved every single moment of it ! Definitely a good excursion to enjoy.

Shoutout Odell! - WE LOVED OUR BAMBOO RAFTING GUIDE ODELL MILLER! He was so amazing he was my favorite part of the whole excursion at Chukka. My boyfriend and I had such a relaxing time on the rafts and enjoyed the foot massage. Odell was so humble and awesome I hope he gets the recognition he deserves because he was a great human being. The world needs more people like him. He taught us a lot about the area and the limestone too! Thanks so much for making our time here in Jamaica memorable.

Young Cash is the captain! - The bamboo rafting is great. It is relatively a short ride. We luckily had a great captain Odell ( Young Cash ) he definitely made our trip more enjoyable and smooth. If you can pick your captain ask for him. He will make the short ride so much more enjoyable. The park itself isnt all that great, the prices to quality are not at the level of MY standards.

An exceptional experience - The experience was excellent from the moment we entered. The bamboo rafting experience was great. Taschi was phenomenal polite , informative, he made us feel comfortable from the beginning. The raft was decorated and clean. He explained everything g he was going step by step. And also gave us a lot of information regarding the history and limestone used on us for massage. Overall he was very respectful and friendly. Would recommend this 100%

Shout out Anthony the captain for turning our experience around - I booked through my hotel. Was not informed there was more than one activity to do at this location. Nor was anything else offered for us to do. What was maybe a 45 min raft. took hours bc transportation was scheduled to depart back to the hotel at 5pm. Something that was not mentioned either. Front desk check in/information didn’t really greet you. Nor did they give instructions on where to go for the raft. They had us waiting for almost 45 min just to take us down to the river when the rest of our bus had already gone down. We asked TWO people from the front where are we suppose to go and they instructed us to keep waiting in the lobby when people from our bus were already doing the activity. Shout out our captain Anthony who turned the experience around for us tho. He was nice and answered our questions while navigating the raft. Made us feel welcomed. The restaurant was okay too. We were waiting around more than anything than actually doing anything fun. It’s ok.

Disappointing river raft. - Nice, well developed facility. The river rafting was not a great experience. Our captain had a really bad attitude (while the other raft captains around us seemed happy, and were being friendly) so we turned down the foot massage, as we did not want to get that personal with him, which made his attitude worse and he became quite rude presumably because the foot massage would have been part of the incentive for us to tip well. Not at all worth the money for us.

All Hype - Was trapped for 6hrs (including the ride to and from the hotel) to do a 30min Raft ride. The raft was ok but it was a waste of a day and money. There are no tour guides at the site at all. The site is small with a few props to take a quick picture in front of but they seem so much more at the sales presentation. Oh, and we were told we would do more things during the excursion but we found out that we were at the place. DON'T DO IT!!! Brittania deceived us to make the sale at our hotel, and Diedra was very nonchalant at the site.

Very disappointed - We did the bamboo river rafting excursion here, a 45 minute experience priced at $120 USD pp, so $240 USD total. The river rafting was alright, not much different from floating down our river which made us think okay, this is a one and done experience as it didn’t necessarily stand out to us. The reason for the one star rating is our experience toward the end of the river trip. My Husband handed our guide $50 USD as a tip, and he took it with a quick thank you. Not more than 30 seconds later, his friend rafted closer to us and began to chastise us for the amount we had tipped, saying he just got $100, what was wrong, did we not like our guide? Give him more money! Our guide seemed neither here nor there about us being confronted, making a comment about how he knew we would give him more if we had more. Three things: 1. I don’t think he even looked at the amount we gave him to begin with, he just took it and immediately pocketed it, so I don’t know if he was aware of the amount. 2. We are confident that this is a pressure tactic they use on many tourists to squeeze more money out of them, though I haven’t read any other reviews yet to see if this is mentioned. 3. $50 USD is a very generous tip for 45 mins of work. Whether you live in Jamaica or Canada. I work in a business where I receive gratuity daily and that amount for a 45 minute job would shock me. We do not need nor expect someone go above and beyond a simple “thank you” when receiving gratuity from us, however we didn’t appreciate being bullied and shamed into giving even more. The experience left a sour taste in our mouths and we were ready to get out of there immediately, but unfortunately had to wait another 2 hours for our bus to come back. While we waited we had access to a pool, a water slide that was working but not open to use, and overpriced subpar food, hence why we were just anxious to go back to our resort instead. The walk around the property was brief but probably the most interesting portion of our trip there. Without the negative experience river rafting, I think this place would have gotten a 3-3.5 star review from us. But because of it, of all the different places to experience in Jamaica this is last in our books and I would highly recommend skipping it.
