Venice of the Americas - Seeing the mansions at night was the best part and stopping at Las Olas to eat dinner and window shop.

Great tour guides - I loved the ride and guidance with the facilitators who had a story about many of the properties. They advised us when we should get on and off and made the trip memorable for us

Glad we snuck this into our short trip! - Bought tickets for a Sunday evening. There was a bit of a wait to start (45 minutes), we boarded at stop 4. The online tracker helps a little knowing where the boats are but the times aren’t always accurate depending on if there are people actually getting on or off at all the stops. Didn’t really have a plan but a friendly Lyft driver suggested Shooters. (Also suggested we make a reservation, which we ended up doing on the boat). Crew was nice, helpful and teenage daughter thought one of the young men was cute. ;) Started sunny, clouded over and then we had some rain. We were on one of the bigger boats so we could go inside when the wind picked up. They do give out ponchos if they have them, we saw several passengers wearing them. The bigger boat also had a bar and a decent looking bathroom. Used our ticket to get 10% off our meal at the restaurant. After shooters we caught a smaller boat. Little wetter ride when it started raining again BUT it didn’t ruin the evening because the temperature was mild enough to shake it off. Didn’t get much narration at night after dark but the music was pleasant and the views are still good. Very glad we did it and would totally do it again. Maybe make a whole day of it to see more!! FYI, they hit all the stops each way unless they are an express.

Speed over safety - I recently had an experience with the Fort Lauderdale water taxi that left me disappointed. While the service itself is a convenient way to explore the intercoastal waterway, the behavior of the captain on our trip raised serious concerns. The captain seemed to prioritize speed over safety and courtesy, moving the water taxi far too quickly through a public intercoastal waterway. This created a significant wake that affected other vessels in the area. It not only disrupted smaller boats but also felt reckless in such a busy and shared water space. While the idea of the water taxi is appealing and can be a unique way to see Fort Lauderdale, this experience detracted from the overall enjoyment. A greater focus on safety and respect for other boaters is essential for this service to truly shine.

Would do again but… - The crew was great and the scenery wonderful. However we had to wait 1.5 hours to be picked up and were told it would be every 30 minutes. This made us late for our dinner and less time to walk around at our stop. The sound system was not great. At times hard to hear.

Had to Uber home - This is a scam! Paid $40 online before we got to the boat. You wait forever just to find out that the boat won’t take you back to where they picked you up! Had to Uber home.

Disappointing Water Taxi Experience in Ft. Lauderdale - Last week, I attended the CruiseWorld Conference in Ft. Lauderdale, where we met with many local tourism partners, including the Broward County Convention and Visitors Bureau. The Water Taxi was highly recommended as a top way to experience Ft. Lauderdale, so I looked forward to it as I was invited to attend a familiarization dinner and tour some of the sights of Ft. Lauderdale with influential travel advisors by the Northstar Travel Media team. After a wonderful dinner at 15th Street Fisheries, our group of eight headed to the dock to enjoy an evening on the water. Unfortunately, we waited nearly an hour for the Water Taxi to arrive. When it finally did, the captain very abruptly told us that there would be only one more stop that evening, at the Hilton, where most of the group was staying. I explained to the captain that this was a significant group of travel advisors who were looking forward to the experience and who play an essential role in promoting tourism for the county. Rather than welcoming us aboard, the captain backed up the boat without docking and shouted, “We’ll be fine without their business,” leaving the eight of us stranded on the dock. As a local resident and advocate for our tourism industry, I was both embarrassed and insulted by how we were treated in front of our guests. To make things worse, one of the travel advisors returned to the restaurant to discuss the incident and was informed that similar issues have reportedly been happening frequently in recent weeks. I’ve used the Water Taxi in the past with clients and friends, but after this experience, I no longer feel comfortable recommending it. It was disappointing to see such disregard for customer service, especially when this group represents so much potential business for Ft. Lauderdale.

Not worth it unless you have 12 hrs to waste - The tracker was not working. There are several boats that pass your stop. When a boat stops its private charter. It is supposed to be every 30 min. We waited an hour ten to get on. Went to the transfer station and headed down to Hollywood. As we approached the announcer said only one boat back in 20 min. So we missed dinner to get on and come right back. Very disappointed in service. We watched YouTube videos and looked routes to plan our trip and it was a complete failure. The water taxi is separate from water trolley. Experience is similar though as we tried to utilize that service the following day before heading to the airport.
