Our Cheese, Wine and Bread tour introduces you to the “holy trinity” of the French table. The tour begins by visiting one of the oldest bakeries in Bordeaux that uses an oven built in 1765. (Imagine an oven older than the United States!) Guests will sample Gascon bread as well as learn about traditional bread-making process using this unique wood-fired oven. From there we visit an artisanal cheese shop to discover the fascinating and sometimes daunting world of French cheeses. You’ll learn about seasonality, production, and answer questions like “When do you eat the rind?” Your group will select cheeses together before heading to a wine shop with over 500 references. You’ll settle in for a detailed discussion and pairing where we explore wines from all over France. For those who want to do a deep dive into cheese and wine, this is the tour for you. Portions are generous and this doubles as lunch for most people.
