Highlights
  • Pyramids of Giza - Depart from your hotel in either Cairo or Giza with a knowledgeable tour guide to commence your journey. Explore the Giza Pyramids, where you’ll marvel at the Great Pyramids - Cheops, Chephren & Mykerinos. Discover the Valley Temple, where priests mummified the deceased body of King Chephren. Get up close to The Sphinx, the legendary guardian overlooking the vast funeral complex, boasting a lion body and the head of King Chephren. Please note that entry inside any of the pyramids is not included and requires additional tickets, which can be purchased during the tour.

  • Great Pyramid of Cheops (Khufu) - The Great Pyramid of Giza stands as the eldest and grandest among the trio of pyramids within the Giza pyramid complex adjacent to modern-day El Giza, Egypt. It holds the distinction of being the oldest of the Seven Wonders of the Ancient World and is the sole structure to have endured largely intact through the ages.

  • Khafre’s Pyramid - The second-largest pyramid at Giza and in Egypt was constructed for Khafre, the third pharaoh of the 4th Dynasty during the Old Kingdom Period of Ancient Egypt around 2540 BC. Khafre, alternatively known by the Greek name Chephren, was the son of Khufu, the builder of the Great Pyramid, and the grandson of Sneferu, another prominent architect of Ancient Egypt. The tour includes an external visit to the pyramid; however, entrance to the interior requires an additional ticket, which can be purchased during the visit.

  • Great Sphinx - The Sphinx - A fabled sentinel overlooking the vast burial grounds, featuring a lion’s body and the visage of King Chephren.

  • The Museum of Egyptian Antiquities - Located in Downtown Cairo, on the northern side of Midan Tahrir, the Egyptian Museum boasts one of the globe’s most significant assemblies of ancient artifacts. Housed within its grand, uniquely pinkish domed structure are the dazzling treasures of Tutankhamun and other revered pharaohs. Alongside these illustrious items rest the grave goods, mummies, jewelry, eating utensils, and toys of ordinary Egyptians whose identities have faded into obscurity. Exploring the museum is akin to embarking on a captivating journey through the annals of time.

  • Liberation Square (Midan El-Tahreer) - Midan Tahrir, also known as Liberation Square, became globally renowned in early 2011 when millions of Egyptians gathered here to overthrow then-president Hosni Mubarak. On ordinary days, it functions as an average giant roundabout, albeit one where several major roads intersect. The primary attraction drawing visitors here is the imposing powder-pink structure of the Egyptian Museum.

  • Khan Al-Khalili - Dating back to the 14th century, Khan El-Khalili in Old Cairo has stood as a pivotal hub for cultural and economic endeavors. Delve into the rich tapestry of Khan El-Khalili market and its environs with our comprehensive guide. The tour concludes with a convenient drop-off at your hotel in Cairo or Giza.

ChaoticCairo and its treasures - Up early again for our flight from Luxor to Cairo where we were met by our driver from Private Classic Tours. The drive into cental Cairo was so interesting. Its such a busy chaotic city. Shima, our guide, met us at the Egyptian Museum . She had the entrance tickets ready for us . There is so much to see . She explained about the different dynasties and the huge number of gods and deities which were worshipped. Seeing the fabulous statues and talking us through the hieroglyphs was amazing. So much information. From the museum we moved across the River Nile and headed towards Giza stopping on the way at a nice restaurant for a very tasty traditional lunch. You expect the Pyramids to be out in the desert but as you get to the edge of Giza , there they are in all their glory. Honestly , along with the Sphinx guarding them , they take your breath away. We had the option to go inside one.Great. Shima explained about which Pharaohs belonged to each one. How they were constructed was incredible. We then started back to Cairo. Once in the centre , we stopped at the old Khan El Khalili market and luckily had time to take tea at the famous cafe, El Fishawy. From there it was back to the airport and our flight back to Luxor. I really can't recommend Private Classic Tours highly enough. They were excellent as was Shima. She was so knowledgeable.

Cairo in a day - Had an early flight from Luxor. The tour was arranged by Private classic tours. Their driver was waiting as we left the airport in Cairo. This huge Egyptian capital city is so busy it takes your breath away. We had a lovely guide Shimaa, she had all the entrance tickets ready so there was no queuing. Started with Cairo museum, she just had so much information and knowledge it made everything so interesting. Stopped for lunch at a nice restaurant and then headed towards Giza for the main event. We have all seen the Great Pyramids and Sphinx on the television but that doesn't prepare you for seeing them up close WOW WOW WOW. They are just AMAZING and you feel so small. We returned to the city centre to visit the old market of Khan al Khalili. It has been wonderful to see these magnificent sights. Taken back to Cairo airport for return flight to Luxor. Thanks to Shimaa ( you're a great guide) and the tour company.
