You’ll start by experiencing some of the places he frequented most often throughout his childhood and as a young man. See the hotel from which he ordered his food while living nearby and even the bachelor pad that he called home in his younger years.
• The Royal Arcade - After getting a glimpse of the young Churchill’s usual haunts, you’ll see how his tastes for the finer things in life developed. Swing over to visit where Churchill purchased his custom-made dress shoes so he didn’t have to reach down and tie whilst he frantically worked out of his underground bunker during WWII.
• St. James’ Square - Churchill was famous for his love of hats, cigars, and other luxuries. Your guide will show you the shops where he frequently purchased both of the above and other material pleasures around St James Street.
• Horse Guards Parade at Whitehall - See mounted cavalry troops on beautifully bred horses at the Horse Guards Parade, a ceremonial parade ground where the annual Trooping the Colour takes place in celebration of the King’s birthday.
• Whitehall - Your journey continues through some of the darkest days of Churchill’s tenure as Prime Minister: World War II. Millions courageously sacrificed their lives for a noble cause during these tumultuous years and are remembered in places throughout London today. As you make your way along Whitehall, you’ll pay homage to them at iconic statues and visit solemn memorials that commemorate all the casualties experienced by British forces during WWII and other conflicts.

Explore the corridors and rooms where British Prime Minister Winston Churchill and his staff worked tirelessly to direct military operations from 1940–45. See original artifacts, historic photographs and interactive displays that recreate a fascinating time in British history.
