Halifax Amazing Ride - Being on the top deck and being able to take awesome photos from either side. Very knowledgeable guide. Great way to get off see what you’d like to see and then get back on and continue the tour.

Not so good on rainy days- no rain check or refund - It rained most of day. Would be nice to have time table for stops instead of standing in rain 20 minutes

OK Tour - The best thing about this hop-on-hop-off tour was the buses are vintage double deckers. The driver said there are 35 buses build between 1963 and 1967. I stayed on the bus the entire tour. It was very popular with lots of patrons, but I guess that’s because a cruise ship was in port. There are 10 stops and even one at the “Titanic Cemetery” where 100 victims are buried. Overall it was fair. Didn’t learn as much on this tour as I’ve learned on bus tours in other cities. It was the most expensive hop-on-hop-off tours I’ve taken. Signage at stops could be improved especially stop 2. Several of us were wandering around looking for the sign.

Fun way to see the sights - We booked this as an excursion thru Celebrity Cruise lines. We have done many excursions on cruises and this one seemed a bit chaotic. First our tickets (from the cruise line) had a specific time on them. But the people running things on the pier didn't care about that, just that you had a ticket. If we had known this our group of 4 could have been on the same bus. There were 3 cruise ships in port so this was busy. The ticket had NO information about having to get a sticker for the bus (not from the cruise line, but Greyline bus people). Once on the bus everything was good. We decided to do the whole route to hear about all of the stops to decide which stops we might want to go back to. The information from the tour guide on the bus was really good. We opted for the Public Gardens and the Citadel. When we made it back to the cruise terminal we were told we had to get off the bus to let others on. So we had to wait for two busses to come and go before we could get on the third. This took about 35 minutes. While we were waiting I asked about visiting the two and the walk between the two stops we decided to see. We did get some great advice. The guy told us to do the Citadel first then walk to the Gardens. This is because the Citadel is "above" the gardens. It would be a downhill walk there instead of walking uphill the other direction. Another reason we wanted to walk was that the busses ONLY do the loop in one direction. We also saw that with the increased traffic, at some stops there were more people waiting than the bus had places to sit. so some people had to wait for two or three busses to get on one. The Citadel was NOT included in our excursion ticket for the HOHO bus. So we just walked around the perimeter and enjoyed the view which is amazing. The Public Gardens were awesome to see.

Not the best, but OK - Have Done hop on hop off in many cities in the US and Europe. This one was only fair compared to the others. Was the most expensive, and perhaps Halifax doesn’t have that many things to include. I am told that they vary the number of buses running the route, depending on the number of cruise ships that are in Port on that day. If there are no ships, they may be one hour plus between buses, if two ships as short as 15 to 20 minutes between buses, not a huge problem if you are aware of how it works. If you are trying to bring up their website, you have to look under gray tour lines, not hop on hop off.

Hop on Hop off disappointment - I have taken hop on hop off buses in numerous locations and have always thought it was a great way to get around. The Halifax bus experience has made me rethink this. We got on the bus and it was a cloudy rainy day so we were prepared. We were told the bus runs every 20-30 minutes. We got off at the Public Gardens and I set a timer for 20 minutes. We went to the bus stop figuring the next bus would be there shortly. Boy were we wrong. It was an hour, so 40 minutes of waiting for the bus to arrive. It started raining pretty hard after about 20 minutes so needless to say we were soaked. When we finally got on we picked up more people who had the same experience. There were a few more stops we wanted to get off on but we were concerned about the timing since we couldn’t wait an hour at each stop and make it back to our ship in time. Very disappointing and not worth the cost.

Rip off - We thought this would be a convenient way to see the town when we came off our cruise ship. At the port they were selling endless tickets at $80 each which we thought was expensive considering the distance covered. There seemed to be no control of the number of tickets issued and the queue eventually had to double back on itself right along the Quay. We waited an hour and a half before we got on and then were told probably best not to hop off as we might not get back on!. From then on things did improve, we risked getting off at the Citadel and managed to get back on without too much trouble. Same at the Titanic graves. The tour ended on a happy note. Although the traffic was heavy going back into town and we darent hop off anywhere else in case we missed our ship, our guide, Andrea? was so funny and jolly that she made the trip worthwhile.

Experience not available,,,NOT RUNNING - Let me start by saying your website says not a thing about only running when cruise ships are in port as told by your agent….The long weekend in June,,the Military Tattoo on in town and you are not running,,We planned our stay by taking hop on and off so as to be aware of where we are in Halifax… okay I tried to buy tickets online unavailable,, never before have I been told not running……once again very disappointed..Brian

DON’T GO - The worst hop on hop off in the world The fumes from the bus could have killed me. The driver had a terrible time with the stick shift and the guide had no idea what he was saying. .it was the guides first trip. I have taken hop on tours all over the world and this was by far the worst.

I would never purchase the hop on hop off tickets from here again. - I never got my tickets for the bus. I walked the 6 blocks from the ship to the museum where I was directed and never found the the place to get the tickets. I passed at least 3 other places along the way where I could have purchased the tickets, including right off the cruise ship.
