Amazing experience in the nature & with the local community - We are so grateful for this experience. The views were amazing, the people in the village very warm and the organization by Lam was super smooth. Being two young ladies travelling by themselves, safety was our priority as well as responsible travel, and our experience at Mu Can Chai went far beyond what we could have expected. We really felt like no tourist have ever been there before. Big thanks to our guide Jack (we recommend him very strongly) who was about our age and brought us around his valley. His English is good enough, and he is learning so quickly. Our trip consisted of the first with light hiking, the second day by bike and the third day was supposed to be a big hike but due to the heavy rain we ended up doing a Mong art workshop. The good thing with DCT Responsible Travel is that they really organise the experience according to what YOU expect that is the number of km per day, the activities etc. I strongly recommend this agency & Mu Can Chai valley to anyone who wants to get out from the basic touristy path & want to feel the local way. About the level of comfort, we were expecting something very basic but it was in fact very comfy: hot shower, wifi, mosquito net etc. Lastly, children are playing everywhere in the village, so travelling with kids could be super enriching for foreign families to see such different lifestyle:)

Outstanding trekking through the rice terraces and mountains with an up close look at village life. - We had a fantastic adventure trekking through the rice terraces and mountains around Mu Cang Chai. The homestay was very comfortable with delicious food with a very friendly and helpful family. The trekking was outright spectacular and felt very local and not touristic. Acho (Jack) our local guide was very knowledgeable and taught us much about the local ways of living. The treks themselves are moderate in difficulty in dry conditions, but can be harder if it’s raining and muddy or slippery. Bring walking sticks, sturdy hiking shoes, plenty of water (or carry the means to purify along the way) and rain gear. The scenery is stunning and the terrain is very diverse and somewhat reminiscent of the foothills of Nepal but actually prettier. If you are reasonably fit and want an up close look at life in the local villages as well as see some truly incredible scenery, this trip is for you.

Lebendige Tradition abseits von Massentourismus - Sapa was on my list for a visit for a longer time although I was in Vietnam for a couple of times and always missed to go there. DCT proposed a tour starting in Hanoi and going to Sapa with a sleeping bus at daytime what took about 7hrs to get there. Sapa itself is quite a touristic place but used as a starting point for tours it's a good option. DCT booked me a fine hotel and from there I was lucky to get very well organized daily private tours in cars and with local guides to remote villages and markets I could not imagine that they still exist. Vivid places with people from ethnic minorities in their local dresses, colorful and truly amazing. Rice terraces, teaplantations, workshops, homestays with "family connection", caves, waterfalls, panoramic views...DCT organized with a lot of skill and passion and made it an unforgettable experience. If you want to see the true Vietnam beside crowded places DCT is the right choice.
