Vatican Museums - One of the richest and most representative museums in the world. It would take weeks or maybe months to visit it completely and exhaustively. Rich in statues, paintings, sarcophagi, mosaics collected by the Popes since the Renaissance. It was the famous Pope Julius II who began, with his private collection, what would become an enormous concentration of artworks. The Sistine chapel is the real reason why thousands of people flock to museums every year to admire Michelangelo Buonarroti’s masterpieces: The Last Judgment and The Genesis. You will see Michelangelo’s marble masterpiece: La Pietà . The Basilica will surprise you with its majesty and rich decorations.
The Guide will be at your complete disposal in order to fulfill your desire for more information. At the end of the tour you will meet your driver again and continue the tour as scheduled or return to the hotel.

Additional Information
Take a personalised and flexible tour of Rome, starting from the port of Civitavecchia, with your own Driver and Licensed Tour Guide. Your guide will alight from the vehicle with you at each site, guiding you through the attractions for comprehensive insights on each point of interest. The tour sets off at 7:30AM from where your ship is docked. Your driver, holding a sign with your name, will be prepared to meet you. By 9:30AM, you’ll be in Rome to meet your private guide. Set aside 1PM to 2PM for a lunch break. Post lunch, embark on your private Vatican Museums tour that lasts until 5:00 to 5:30PM.

You have the option to pay for your tickets in cash to your guide directly.
You can choose to avoid visiting the Colosseum and/or Vatican and tailor your private tour according to your own preference. Don’t hesitate to share your requests with us.
Keep in mind, Vatican Museums are closed on Sundays.
- A dress code is required to enter places of worship and selected museums. No shorts or sleeveless tops allowed. Knees and shoulders MUST be covered for both men and women. You may risk refused entry if you fail to comply with these dress requirements
- Earphones are mandatory for groups (more than 4 Guests) inside the Vatican Museums and St. Peter’s Basilica.
- Vatican Museums closed: Sunday, Easter, 01May, 29Jun, 14Aug, 15Aug, 01Nov, 8Dec, 25Dec, 26Dec
- A single van is used for up to seven people. For groups over seven people two Mercedes vans are used. A single guide is used for each individual group regardless of the number of people.
- Our office will purchase your Colosseum and Vatican Museums, Sistine Chapel and St. Peter’s Basilica skip-the-line tickets. Your tour guide will have your tickets. Tickets to be paid only cash directly to your guide.
- Due to the high demand for tickets, availability to visit the Colosseum and Vatican Museums will only be confirmed once the tour has been booked. In case of lack of tickets it will still be possible to take the tour but with other destinations.

Amazing experience!! - Wow this was an incredible experience and a great tour! It was so well planned and executed. This was by far the very best tour we’ve ever been on.
Nicola was our tour guide in the city. He was an absolute pleasure to be with. His knowledge is amazing, and he brings history and meaning to everything you see. He paints the picture of what happened when, why, and how. I learned a great deal on this tour.
Nicola also helped us choose a place for lunch. It was the most amazing meal. He even coordinated with the restaurant to make sure we were ready to go on time.
The way Nicola choreographed our journey with Tanya our driver was so impressive. Tanya is such a pro! I couldn’t believe how she navigated the streets, the traffic, the people! I would ride with her in any car in any city! We would get out to go see a site. We’d come out and there was Tanya with the car ready to take us to the next location. So great!
Daniel was our guide for the Vatican City. Again he was an absolute pleasure. Extremely knowledgeable. Knew exactly where to go and what to do to navigate the city.
This tour was absolutely perfect! Nicola, Tanya, and Daniel are truly professionals. I’m so glad we chose this tour. I can’t wait to go back to Rome to experience some more. This tour is worth every single dollar spent!! I can’t be more clear about this point. They take very good care of you and are with you all day.

The Only Way to See Rome - Some say you can’t see Rome in a day, but those people didn’t have Illauria and Ernesto as their guides. We conquered the city in 8 hours! The Pantheon was first. Illauria started the tour with a wealth of knowledge! Next, we made wishes in the Trevi Fountain, grabbed some gelato, and made it to the colosseum. The lines were not a problem and she had our tickets ready. We stopped for lunch at an amazing little restaurant. The staff loved the kids, the food was amazing, and the restaurant was clean!! Even though we only spoke a little Italian, my daughter was able to get a free lollipop. The last stop was the Vatican City. Luck was on our side as we walked without crowds through the museums, St. Peter’s Basilica, and the Sistine Chapel. We left the day with many photos and a wealth of knowledge! It was an awesome day. Our group ranged from ages 6-76. The tour was expensive, but it was 100% worth it!

How to do Rome in a Day - How could you not like this tour? Laura and Stefano made our Rome experience unforgettable. The detail from Laura about each site /attraction and the ability to get it all done due to Stefano's knowledge of the city and where 'to park' and 'pickup from' just made the trip as turnkey as you can get.
We were even able to get in a 30 min lunch contrary to Italian sit back and relax and eat culture.
We chose this over the 'standard cruise offered tour' because well.. Rome is Rome and you won't get it all in with a large tour group
Would Highly Recommend this tour visiting Rome especially from a Cruise Port Day perspective.

Highlight of our visit to Italy and Greece - Our guide was so knowledgeable and passionate about the history of Rome and all of the sites we saw. She was very organized, had everything ready for us including a lunch reservation at a fabulous restaurant. Our driver was great as well. A fantastic and flawless event. The highlight of our trip to Italy and Greece.

Rome in a Day - Smooth pickup in the morning from our crew ship port, they took us in a private van into Rome with a stop along the way for pictures, then met up with our tour guide to see the sites around Rome. Always nice to have a driver and guide coordinating pickups when needed to take you to the next destination. Maria was a great and informative guide who hit all the spots we wanted and Marco was an entertaining driver. We loved every minute. We decided on a sit down lunch but that turned out to be a mistake as the restaurant was incredibly slow and took too much of our site seeing time. Grab and go is best, next time we’ll know better or choose a better restaurant. Despite being a crowded holiday in Rome and having limited time, we enjoyed the tour immensely. Highly recommended!

Great tour - Marco and Nicola were great. These guys were so much fun and very informative, in our opinion after seeing some of the other group tours and their sheep herding mentality the private tour with these guys was worth every penny. Very professional, on time, safe and the lunch was fantastic. I am not sure if you can request Marco and Nicola but if the company would let you we very highly recommend them. Thanks for a great time and eye opening tour.

Excellent comprehensive tour of Rome! - The driver was very nice. Very quiet but also very friendly. Google translate helped us communicate. Alessandra was an amazing guide. Incredibly knowledgeable and shared her incredible wealth of l classical, local and national history. They took us to their favorite osteria where we had an amazing lunch. Only down side is that lunch was long and we did not get to Trevi fountain but that was a worthwhile tradeoff for us. What a great tour!!!
