Our tour guide, Michael, was punctual... -
Our tour guide, Michael, was punctual, friendly and very knowledgeable. His English was excellent. Wang Family Mansion is well worth a visit. It gave really good insights into Chinese family life in the past. Michael brought the experience to life by adding details that you couldn't get just by looking at the buildings. For instance, he explained the differences in the lives of sons and daughters.
We would have been happy to have just visited the Wang Family Mansion, but we thought that the Shuanglin Temple was a reasonably interesting add on. Again Michael gave us lots of relevant information about this Buddhist temple.
Lunch was at our hotel. We didn't get a choice of food. However the food was very tasty. We would have preferred to have been taken to a different restaurant and to have chosen from the menu and for Michael and the driver to have been allowed to join us. This is what happened on our other guided tour.
