Simply Excellent, Due to guide Joseph. - Soweto and Johannesburg. Simply excellent, due to guide Joseph. He went beyond the standard tour to give a memorable day. I ended up being the only one on the tour so had a personal journey through Johannesburg and Soweto. The crucial element in any tour is the guide and here Joseph excelled. Engaging, full of knowledge and with personal experiences of apartheid, he gave the tour an immediacy others couldn't. We did the Johannesburg as a drive through and then moved to Soweto. Note that an option was given to go with a local through one of the poor areas (they will only let one of their own do this). Not knowing this, for security reasons I took no cash, which they hope for payment. So you may want to take some. A prearranged amount would help both parties. We went to sites beyond the tour and Joseph even took me to the Park Bus terminal so I knew where to get a bus to Lesotho (this included paying for parking). The bus departure had moved to another site and he took me there and confirmed with the local drivers exactly where it was. Over and above the call of duty, that was appreciated. They will pick you up and drop you back at your hotel which is a huge advantage.

Up close and personal - The tour was great to see the changes in South Africa up close and personal. Integrating with the locals provided a special touch also. The news does not give the details like the tour guide. This was truly a history lesson.

Great Tour before Flying - I only had a limited time before flying out. This was a great tour that allowed me to see the Apartheid Museum and the Mandela house in Soweto. I am glad to have done it instead of sitting in the hotel. Joseph was an excellent tour guide! He was very knowledgeable and insightful of the history of South Africa and Soweto area. I recommend this tour!

Worth every cent! - I learned so much during this excursion due to our amazing guide and chauffeur, Joseph Kazadi! The apartheid museum was closed, so we went to the constitution hill instead, which was just as interesting. This excursion alone was worth the whole trip to Johannesburg itself!
