• Mattancherry Palace - Begin your journey from the Cruise Port, your hotel, or any preferred location and set off to explore Kochi (Cochin) with your private guide. Visit Mattancherry Palace, also known as the Dutch Palace, an archaeological marvel. The palace boasts an impressive collection of murals depicting scenes from the epics, Ramayana and Mahabharata. You can also glimpse the royal lifestyle through life-size portraits of Cochin’s rulers, adorned swords, axes, daggers, ceremonial spears with feathers, royal caps, and coins issued by Cochin’s rulers.

• Paradesi Synagogue - Also known as the Cochin Jewish Synagogue or Mattancherry Synagogue, it is the oldest synagogue among the 53 member countries of the Commonwealth of Nations, built in 1568. It houses numerous antiques related to Kerala’s Jewish history. The large main hall captivates visitors with its display of rare antique objects, adding to the place’s grandeur. Although most of Kochi’s Pardesi Jews have emigrated, the synagogue remains well-preserved.

Note: Paradesi Synagogue is closed every Friday afternoon, Saturday, and on all Jewish Holidays.

• St. Francis CSI Church - Built in 1503 by Portuguese Franciscan friars, this is considered India’s oldest European-built church. The current faded-yellow structure was constructed in the mid-16th century to replace the original wooden chapel and was later modified by the Dutch and British. Explorer Vasco da Gama, who died in Cochin in 1524, was buried here for 14 years before his remains were moved to Lisbon – his tombstone can still be visited in the church.
• Chinese Fishing Nets - The large cantilevered Chinese fishing nets, resembling oversized hammocks, have become an iconic symbol of Fort Kochi. These nets are believed to have been constructed 500-600 years ago by Chinese traders exploring India’s southern coastline. The sight of these nets is one of the most photographed scenes in Kochi.

• Fort Kochi - This walking tour offers a glimpse into Cochin’s rich history and heritage, highlighting the Dutch, Portuguese, British, and Jewish influences that make the city unique. During the tour, we will explore the old quarter of Fort Kochi, walking through its charming streets. We will also visit Fort Kochi’s seaside promenade and observe daily life in Kochi.
• Kerala Folklore Museum - Built in Kerala style from ancient temples and beautiful old houses collected by its owner, an antique dealer, this family-run folklore museum houses a priceless collection of over 5000 artifacts and showcases three architectural styles: Malabar on the ground floor; Kochi/Portuguese on the first floor; and Travancore on the second (top) floor. The top-floor theatre features an 18th-century wood-carved ceiling depicting Hindu gods and colorful Ramayana and Mahabharata murals.
