Fun hour in Kyoto - Loads of fun with our tour guide Nobu!! Scheduled this on a whim and couldn’t be happier. While full of facts and history, not an academic experience. Instead, an overview of the historical context of samurai and ninjas. The throwing stars and samurai dress up were a welcome surprise!!

Great experience !! - Visiting the Samurai Museum was an unforgettable experience! The exhibits were fascinating, and the activities, like trying on armor and learning about samurai traditions, were so much fun. Our guide, Fumiya, was knowledgeable and engaging, making the visit even more enjoyable. Highly recommend this museum to anyone interested in Japan’s rich history !

Interesting but pricey - This museum is very interesting to understand the history of the Samurai in Japan. Highly recommended in that respect. The Guide you get as a group also tells well and clearly. Disadvantage: it is on the pricey side with €20 per ticket. You'll be outside in an hour. Nevertheless, highly recommended because it is very interesting.

Good but could be better - Friendly tour guide gave us good history of the samurai and ninjas with some ancient Japanese history. At the end of the tour you get to dress up in samurai armour and helmet and take pics. The main downside is that as it is a guided tour you don't get to look at each exhibit in your own time but instead you're rushed from room to room in a large group. I felt the museum is a bit dated. They can improve the exhibit signs for each piece in the museum as some signs are poorly presented and can introduce some interactive displays to modernise and enhance the visitor experience.

Good experience at the Samurai and Ninja Museum Experience Kyoto. - If you are expecting a museum experience it’s probably better to go somewhere like the Tokyo National Museum. There are more exhibits with full histories detailed. However this experience is probably more aimed at a family audience with a brief overview of the history of the rise of the samurai and ninja without embellishments and being careful to dispel some of the myths. The guide was engaging and fun and knew his subject and people were able to handle some of the weaponry. There was a fun session learning to throw shuriken. Overall a good way to spend an hour or so.

Samurai vs Ninja - Curious and very entertaining experience, as they explain to you how the samurai arise, who could be, you learn topics, from the differences of swords, goes the false myths of tv... the most the throwing of stars, and the costumes of samurai!! Enjoyed as children The explanation is excellent

Disappointing - Was disappointed in the experience. There was only one wall of amour, one wall of swords, and a basic talk which was hard to understand with the microphone. Was expecting a lot more on show than the 2 rooms. The cost was approx NZ$30 which I thought was too much for the brief tour if you could call it that. Got to throw a ninja weapon and could have dressed up which we passed on. Would not really recommend it.

Stop overbooking - The tour was way overbooked. It was so crowded you couldn't even get all the people on the tour in the room. Too many people made this experience horrible
