Additional Information

Driving through rural and exotic areas of Costa Rica, searching for a hidden paradise. Some extra effort off-road will be required. Upon arrival, we’ll embark on a river cruise in a special, small, and quiet motorboat designed to navigate these untamed channels, which are part of a complex ecosystem of wetlands that irrigate these alluvial plains and evergreen forests. These wetlands are a crucial nesting area for various species of migratory and non-migratory birds. This place is a wildlife sanctuary teeming with exciting native fauna.

During our floating safari expedition, we may encounter different species of mammals such as sloths, bats, howler monkeys, spider monkeys, and white-faced capuchins. Additionally, we’ll see a wide variety of aquatic birds like herons, storks, kingfishers, Jacanas, and ducks, as well as non-aquatic birds such as trogons, potoos, ospreys, hawks, and other prized sightings for birdwatchers. In the end, we will share a truly unforgettable experience with a real Costa Rican family.

great coffee tour with our children - This was such a great experience. Our driver Christian brought us directly here after a great white water rafting experience. Rigo was our coffee tour guide and did an amazing job walking us through the beautiful grounds and explaining the process of making coffee. Our children were able to make cane sugar and help roast as well grind the coffee beans. We concluded with a delicious snack and cup of coffee. Would highly recommend this!

More Than Just a Coffee Tour - We booked this last minute, and even booked the wrong date via Viator, but the team at Jacamar was super helpful about rescheduling even over Christmas! Andres was an excellent tour guide, and knew everything about the entire farm, and we were able to literally pick star fruit from the tree and eat them, and help with actual coffee roasting, then taste the coffee and some snacks that were made from all the fresh things they were growing right there! Ask Andres where the best sangria in La Fortuna is, too!
