Lots of animals and great food! Fun for the Family - We had a great time on our night walk. Our guide was extremely knowledgeable and showed us many animals. The food was delicious! Some of the best from our trip. It is an easy hike and suitable for all ages. I highly recommend this excursion.

I want to go frog hunting! - We had an excellent time! The group size was perfect, not too big. Diego was our guide and he was highly attentive and answered all questions. We got lucky and saw around 5 or so red eye tree frogs! We also got to see a blue Jean frog, and plenty of other species I’ve already forgot. We also saw a wandering spider! The family that runs the property is very sweet and obviously care a lot for the integrity of the grounds, with specific spots to spray bug spray to avoid contaminating the location of the frogs. Not to mention THE DINNER? absolutely delicious and great portion sizes. A soup, a full plate, and a dessert. Juice when you get there and another juice at dinner (and both are also delicious and I believe homemade as well). I am absolutely thrilled with the experience from beginning to end. A word of warning, the shuttle to the property is 45 minutes of bouncing mountain road: if you get car sick, take some medication before. Otherwise this was an incredible experience.

Delicious food, beautiful wildlife. - This tour was booked by our travel agent and I went with my two teenage sons. We all really enjoyed this. We had a gentle and knowledgeable guide who showed us lots of beautiful frogs, toads and lizards and let us taste peppercorns from the bushes. The highlight was the delicious food cooked by two women who were great fun, all of us laughing trying to communicate with our varied understanding of each other’s languages. Dinner was served on the balcony with the town lights in the distance. Would highly recommend this experience.

So many animals! - We had a great time on this excursion! We were picked up at our hotel and the shuttle drove us approximately 45 minutes to the destination. On the way our tour guide, Albert, shared information about the city, culture, and animals. During the drive we pulled over because there two macaws in the wild. We were able to get out and take pictures. Albert used binoculars and a tripod to zoom in and take better pictures. Once we got to the destination we were provided with flashlights and walked on a several paths through a farm. Albert briefed us that animals are unpredictable and he can’t control what we see, but we saw at least 6 different frog species, iguanas, spiders, and a sloth. The path was not too difficult but while walking at night you will want to keep one eye where you are going. After walking for about an hour and a half we were provided a home cooked meal of chicken, rice, and soup. The food was delicious and was crazy to think we were eating on a family’s porch. After that we were dropped back off at our hotel. We were lucky that it rained earlier in the day and not during the excursion, but would recommend ponchos or an umbrella just in case. We would recommend this excursion to anyone visiting the area!

Loads of frogs and toads - Really loved the tour, with guide Diego and driver Mario. Not only we got to see many species of frogs and toads, we also saw wolspider, bulletants, sleeping birds, grashoppers etc. Diego is a very skilled and friendly guide, willing to help you get the best out of the night. Besides that he has a grwat sense of humour! Botanical gardens &ecodlodge isn’t actually on tripadvisor, but the vision and good works comes with great hospitality. So i higly recommend this tour!

Wonderful! - This tour was wonderful. The dinner was great and we all loved the walk! There were so many kinds of frogs, and a basalisk too! This was loved by both kids and grown-ups in our group. We were rained out the first night (huge thunderstorms that didnt pass), and they rescheduled us with ease. It rained during our tour too, but I felt it just added to the experience. Great tour!

Great home cooked meal - We got Jasmine as our guide. She was great, very friendly and funny. We were surprised with an hour drive to the home where we did our night walk. The hosts were GREAT. Friendly with AMAZING fresh juice and a WONDERFUL dinner. The night walk was just around their garden which I wasn’t expecting. It was a nice easy trail. We saw some different frogs, iguanas and ants. Overall it was nice and we had some great people that were a part of the tour we got to know over dinner.
