Don't buy the day pass for 35 euros - Just buy a return to Monterosso al Mare. Go all the way to Monterosso, then travel back stop by stop. The 35 euro pass is a rip-off.

Expedia Shore Excursions guide - told us to take bus to Spezia stationnbut no tickets available on bus. So we were fined - If you are on a cruise and land at La Spezia cruise terminal. You might decide to go to the La Spezia train station for a trip to Cinq Terre. We took the shore excursion from Expedia and the guide said for those that did not want to walk to the station as it takes 25 minutes. We could take the bus from the church opposite the cruise terminal. That was wrong and incomplete information. If you want to take the bus , you MUST buy tickets from local store as the bus driver does not give you tickets. Nor do they speak English. We asked again and again and were told to sit down. He was talking g on his phone while driving bus. At the station there were 2 plain clothes persons who asked us for by and we said that our guide mentioned buying ticket on bus and we did not have any we showed coins. He said we’d have to pay 35 euros each fine for no ticket. It was a 10 min ride. We complained he said he’d call the police. We told him to do so and we complained to them as well. The ticket checker did not have ID. Some other cruise passengers paid fine for 4 people. We were finally only charged 35 euros one fine for 4 people. So Expedia, please note don’t misguide us and if you take bus buy ticket win advance from local newspaper stores and vendors.

Do on your own - Completely disorganized-they did not provide maps and it took until our second train stop to get out tickets. Highly glorified-all the towns look alike and no info is provided in the cities. We finally just did the rest of the trip on our own. You can’t really see the uniqueness from this land tour. They have you walk to the train station which is just over a mile. I suggest you do these cities on your own or from the water
