Palace of Jambakur-Orbeliani - Overlooking the stunning Kartli valleys and surrounding mountains, the Orbeliani Palace in Lamiskana is a quintessential Georgian feudal structure from the 18th century. Originally built as a residence and fortress for the Dukes of Ksani, it was later expanded with a palace on the southern curtain wall. The Orbeliani Castle features a rectangular layout with round corner towers and is perched on a mountain slope, offering views of the Ksani River valley. A private guided tour of the courtyard, palace, and tower transports visitors back to a time of royal gatherings, heroic events, glorious victories, and feudal intrigues, with many military campaigns launched from here. From its intricately carved wooden balconies, one can see several fortified castles on the horizon, all believed to be connected to the palace by 5-km-long secret tunnels.

Samtavisi Cathedral - The majestic cathedral at Samtavisi is a must-visit, with its Gothic-like, grand dimensions, impressive interior vaults, and highly detailed stonework that captivates all visitors. Every decoration, pattern, and engraving has aged harmoniously to perfection. Historically, the first church on this site was built by Assyrian monk Isidore in 572 and was later rebuilt in the 10th century. The current structure was consecrated in 1030. Our private guided tour includes a visit to the cathedral and the church courtyard, where fragments of ancient ruins, narthexes, and graves can still be found.

The Amilakhvars Residence Palace - Visiting the Amilakhvari ducal castle is like embarking on a fascinating “magical mystery expedition” that offers much to learn. This 17th-18th century monument, located in the picturesque village of Lower Chala, originally comprised three castles and various buildings, belonging to the Georgian noble family Amilakvari. The complex has suffered significant destruction over the centuries, and now only the main castle and fragments of the other two remain. A short stroll through the charming backstreets of Lower Chala is both entertaining and breathtaking, offering a glimpse into the real life of local people.
-
Ertatsminda - The breathtaking drive winds through the semi-arid valleys of the Kartli region as we head north towards deciduous forested hills with small, beautiful villages, each renowned for its heroic past and diverse local castles and early Medieval churches. We reach the village of Ertatsminda, nestled atop a mountain, where we visit the Eustathius Cathedral (12th-13th century).
-
Bebris Tsikhe Fortress - Located north of the town of Mtskheta, the former capital of Georgia, Bebris Tsikhe boasts a 2000-year turbulent history. Archaeological excavations have shown that the first fort was built here in the 1st century A.D., with the present-day castle constructed on its ruins in the 9th century. After a leisurely walk along the trail to the hilltop where the castle stands, visitors can also catch a glimpse of several UNESCO Heritage sites, including the Jvari Church and the town of Mtskheta, as well as the untamed Mtkvari River and its small islands.
