Great Guide Experience in Luxor - We booked 2 separate days for our family of 4 and were lucky to have Ms Rania Raouf as our guide both days. We spent the entire first day on the West Bank visiting 6 different locations. Rania is truly an expert in this area and she was very helpful explaining each tomb, it's significance, and the story being told on the walls. Without her, we would have no idea what we were looking at. She was always patient with our seemingly unending stream of questions. The second day was on the East Bank where we visited both Karnak and Luxor temples. Again Rania was extremely helpful to understand what we were seeing. The driver (I forgot his name) was also attentive and shuttled us around in a van that was spacious and always cool. This was very welcomed as it was very hot during our visit. Finally, booking through Walid was very easy. Communication was always responsive both during the booking process and during the tours. It's always nice to get a WhatsApp message the night before confirming names and times to meet. I 100% would book with Egypt Tailor Made again.

Amazing day in West Bank with Rania - Rania was the best tour guide I have ever had. She knows an incredible amount about Egyptian history — she has two masters degrees! — and on top of that was so kind and friendly. I did a private day tour to the West Bank. She was happy to start early so we could beat the heat and the crowds. We started at the Colossi of Memnon then went to Queen Hatshepsut’s temple. Rania had a ton of amazing stories about the queen and her conflict with her stepson. Our visit to the Valley of the Kings was also great. Rania gave great recommendations about which tombs to visit and told me what to look for when wandering inside each tomb (guides are not allowed inside). 10/10 day, highly recommend! Ask for Rania you will be lucky to have her

Great tour at Luxor - We had a great time at Luxor. Our hot air balloon ride was very well organised and the flight was safe. After that, our guide Ghada was very kind and informative during our tour to the valley of the kings, the valley of the queens, temple oh Hatsepsut, and next day the temple of Karnak. Our driver Mahmoud had a very clean vehicle and drove really safely.

With so many tour options, a clear winner in the field. - My recent day tour, led by Rania Raouf, was a highlight of my travel through Egypt. From the moment I was picked up from my hotel, Rania's friendly disposition put me at ease amid the hustle of the tourist circuit in Luxor. Rania's passion for ancient Egypt was palpable. She shared personal anecdotes from her life that enhanced my own experience of the sights and at each stop she made sure that I had the context and information I needed to make the most of the sights. With so much information to absorb, no question was too small for her to tackle. She made entry at each site seamless and efficient helping me to see everything I wanted and making suggestions for our day when needed. I can't recommend her enough as your guide. Her, and the staff at Egypt Tailor Made, did a fantastic job and making me feel secure and comfortable. My trip would not have been the same without!

Upper Egypt tour with kids - Absolutely fantastic! As part of a larger tour with ETM, we - family with 4 kids, ages 6-12 - spent 9 of 13 days, including 2 “free” days, visiting Aswan and Luxor and, from there, exploring the multitude of sites, temples and tombs in the vicinity. We included a day trip to Abu Simbel and drove from Aswan to Luxor, visiting Kom Ombo, and Edfu on the way. From Luxor we visited the local sites and also made a trip to Dendera. While the itinerary was agreed upfront, we did have the flexibility to make changes to the order of tours, start times, etc, as we pleased which, with small kids, is very pleasant. ETM provided a spacious and comfortable van for all airport transfers and tours. Our very friendly driver Mahmoud kept the car well stocked with ice cold water and would make whatever stop we wanted along the way to buy specific supplies. Some of the days, especially Abu Simbel, were very long with long hours in the van but it was all quite comfortable. To note: Egyptian traffic is a bit crazy but Mahmoud is a safe driver! As guide we had Ahmed Aziz who brought each site to life with not just the face value descriptions but with stories and myths of gods and kings and with a passion and energy that both the kids and adults fully enjoyed. Ahmed always new just that little bit more, or a little less spotted detail on a mural which made each place even more interesting. Also useful was his help with practical matters: finding nice lunch spots, organising a water taxi boat, knowing the best shops and letting us know good price ranges, how much to tip, or even when (not!) to tip. He introduced himself saying he was now part of our family and that’s certainly how it felt. Ask for Ahmed! Our experience is that this is a great destination with kids, even in the heat of summer but make sure you bring parasols/umbrellas, build in some breaks, get up early to beat the heat and end each day by the pool. I’m writing this on our last free day in Luxor, before heading to Cairo for the last part of the tour. Thus far, I can only say that ETM is fully living up to the recommendations I read on Earthtrekkers.com and am looking forward to the next stage.

The Guide wasn't very attentive - I had a truly fantastic experience with this company in Cairo, but the 2 days trips I had in Luxor were less great. The time felt rushed and the guide barely spent 10mins talking for each site we visited before disappearing to wait at the entrance. I ended up mostly wandering around myself half listening to other tour groups.
