- Malta - In the morning, guests will be collected by one of our minivans from various locations across mainland Malta (pickup is from your accommodation or the nearest designated pick-up point).
The crossing to and from the island of Gozo is facilitated by one of our private boats, exclusively for our clients. If this is not feasible due to adverse weather or sea conditions, or other operational reasons, the crossing will be made via the communal Gozo Channel Ferry (ferry tickets are included).
- Mgarr Harbour - Upon arrival at Mġarr Harbour (Gozo’s main harbour), guests will board one of our Jeeps for an unforgettable journey around the beautiful island of Gozo. Each jeep is driven by one of our experienced drivers, who will provide explanations and information throughout the journey.
- Sanap Cliffs - Sanap Cliffs in Gozo offer breathtaking views of the Mediterranean Sea, with dramatic limestone formations and rugged landscapes. These majestic cliffs are perfect for hiking, photography, and enjoying the island’s natural beauty.
- Xlendi Beach, Cliff and Caves - Xlendi is one of the most charming and renowned locations in Gozo. It is a delightful coastal town with a beautiful small bay surrounded by picturesque cliffs.
- Knight’s Wash House - Built in the 16th century by the Knights of St. John, these well-preserved public washhouses are carved into a cliff near a natural spring. Featuring a simple irrigation system, they continue to provide clean water and are still used by locals for laundry today.
- Citadel - At the heart of Gozo’s capital city lies another majestic site: the medieval fortress known locally as “Iċ-Ċittadella” (The Citadel). With its distinctive skyline and imposing military architecture, this ancient, fortified structure stands out as Gozo’s major landmark, visible from all over the island.
The area has been inhabited since the Bronze Age, and the site now occupied by The Citadel is believed to have been the acropolis of the Punic-Roman city of Gaulos, or Glauconis Civitas. During the medieval period, the acropolis was converted into a castle, serving as a refuge for Gozo’s population. A suburb began to develop outside its walls by the 15th century, forming the historic core of Victoria.
- it-Tempji tal-Ġgantija - The megalithic temples of Ġgantija have been a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 1980. Along with the Ta’ Ħaġrat Temples and Skorba Temples in Malta, this remarkable archaeological site dates to around 3600–2500 BC. The Ġgantija temples are considered the second oldest free-standing structures in the world, second only to Göbekli Tepe in Turkey and predating Stonehenge in England and the Pyramids of Egypt by about 1000 years! The name “Ġgantija” is derived from the Maltese word for giant (“Ġgant”) because it was believed that the site was constructed by a race of giants. This mythical concept is understandable considering that the temples are made of massive limestone blocks measuring over five metres in length and weighing more than 50 tonnes.
The entrance fee to the temples of Ġgantija is not included in the package price; if you wish to visit the temples, you will have some free time to do so.
- Dwejra Bay - Situated on the western shore of the island of Gozo, this area is a geological and ecological haven. The surroundings are a blend of geology, landscape, fauna, habitats, shorelines, seascapes, archaeology, flora, and history, making a visit to this site an unforgettable experience.
- Inland Sea - Dwejra Bay is also known for its Inland Sea, a small bay surrounded by high cliffs and connected by an impressive 65-meter-long natural tunnel that opens out into the open sea, a truly fascinating natural formation that evokes awe and leaves a striking impression.
Weather permitting, guests will have the opportunity to take a short boat trip through the narrow tunnel and its surrounding area. This boat trip is available at a small fee payable on location (the boat trip is not included in the package price).
- Basilica of the National Shrine of the Blessed Virgin of Ta’ Pinu - Heading west on the outskirts of the village of Għarb, we stop at the Basilica of the National Shrine of the Blessed Virgin of Ta’ Pinu, commonly referred to as “Il-Knisja tal-Mirakli” (The Miracle Church) or simply as “Ta’ Pinu.” This spectacular basilica is one of Gozo’s most iconic landmarks. Though the building, its interior, and its surroundings are truly beautiful, it is the stories surrounding the church that are the most fascinating.
Within the shrine, you will find walls covered in letters, crutches, damaged helmets, etc. that were offered as testimony by people who believed to have been blessed with a miracle by the grace of the Blessed Virgin Mary of Ta’ Pinu.
- Xwejni Salt Pans - Heading north, we will enjoy a scenic route through the countryside that will take us to the Xwejni Salt Pans along the northern coast of the island.
The salt pans are a captivating landmark of vital importance, upholding an ancient trade and skill while harvesting one of Gozo’s important natural raw materials. Xwejni’s salt pans chequerboard pattern and shimmering mirrored reflective pools are always a dynamic sight to behold. Spanning several kilometres across Gozo’s northern coast, today they are divided between 3 salt farmers.
Salt mining has been a tradition in Malta for centuries, and here you will find large clusters of salt pans. Hewn in the rocky coastline, these pans collect sea water during the colder and windier months of the year. While the water evaporates in the heat of the sun, the salt remains in these pans and is harvested by hand. The harvesting season stretches from April to August, with people hard at work twice weekly.
- Qbajjar Bay Beach - Qbajjar Bay Beach is a hidden gem located in the charming village of Żebbuġ.
