Marrakech - Depart from Marrakech for a delightful drive south through the Moulay brahim canyon and upper valleys to arrive at the higher foothills of the western high atlas mountains and our trailhead at imi oughlad with the jbel toubkal, where we alight from our car and meet up with muleteer crew.
Imlil - We begin off in a north-westerly direction for a two-hour acclimatization climb up, passing through cornfields, forests, pine and juniper to the tizn’tachete, where we will pause to gaze back down on the imlil before continuing for another half hour to imi n’ifri and our field picnic. Then a two-and-a-half-hour gradual hike south-west down a dirt route to Assif n’ ait oussaden and the red clay terraced town of Tiziane.
