The Koutoubia Mosque, the largest in Marrakech, is also known by several other names, including Jami ‘al-Kutubiyah, the Kotoubia mosque, the Kutubiya mosque, the Kutubiyyin mosque, and the booksellers’ mosque. Situated in the southwest medina district of Marrakech, the mosque features curved windows, a ceramic strip, pointed merlons, and decorative arches. It boasts a large square with gardens and is illuminated at night.

Bahia Palace - Proceed to one of the most stunning palaces and monuments in Marrakech, the Bahia Palace. Constructed in the late 19th century, its name means “brilliance” and it was intended to be the grandest palace of its era. The country’s finest workers and artisans labored for six years (1894-1900) to complete it.
-
Jemaa el-Fnaa - Take a walk to explore Jemaa el Fna, the main square in the medina and a UNESCO World Heritage site. Now bustling with street performers, snake charmers, merchants, and orange juice stalls, it was originally created in 1050 and used for public executions, possibly giving rise to its name, which can be translated as “assembly of death”.
-
Saadian Tombs - Next, head to the Royal Kasbah in the southern part of Marrakech’s ancient medina. Built by Sultan Almohad Mansour al-Yacoub, it houses “El Mansouria” (the big mosque of the kasbah) and the Saadian Tombs. Discovered and restored in 1917, these tombs are a major attraction due to their beautiful decoration. They are among the few remaining relics of the Saadian dynasty, which ruled over Marrakech’s golden age from 1524 to 1659.
-
Medina of Marrakesh - With your expert certified tour guide, enjoy an authentic walk through Marrakech’s old city. Discover the hidden and genuine side of the ancient walled medina, stroll through some of the oldest quarters, and learn about the medieval lifestyle of its inhabitants. Admire the towering minaret, intricately carved archways, splendid Moorish architecture, and ornate mosques. Wander through the souks at the famous Djemaa El Fna square, where tightly packed stalls display exotic goods and intriguing crafts from Morocco’s past.
-
Ben Youssef Madrasa - Built in the 14th century, this historic Islamic school in the heart of Marrakech was once the largest in North Africa and is now a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
-
Jardin Majorelle - The Majorelle Garden was initially created by French painter Jacques Majorelle in 1923. He built a villa there and expanded his property by acquiring additional parcels of land, filling them with his botanical collection from around the world. After Majorelle’s death, the garden fell into neglect until it was rediscovered by Yves Saint Laurent and Pierre Bergé, who restored the house and enriched the botanical garden, returning them to their former glory. The villa studio now houses a Berber Culture Museum, showcasing the best of YSL’s personal collection of Berber items, including authentic handmade silver jewelry, antique ceramics, rugs, and other pieces of art.
