Great cooking class! - We have just finished a cooking class at Riad Amber & Spices, nestled in a maze of picturesque little alleys, far from the hustle and bustle of the city. Upon arrival, we were warmly welcomed with a delicious mint tea, before heading out to explore the souk to choose the ingredients for our menu, a very pleasant experience! We then prepared our meal in the inner courtyard of the Riad, a charming and soothing setting. Poached pears were a real revelation! We leave delighted, both by what we have learned and by the kindness and hospitality of our guests. An unforgettable experience, which we highly recommend.

Well worth it. - My wife and I (both vegetarian) did the cooking class today. We chose to make the harira (moroccon bean soup) Tagine, and Poached pears to finish. It was great from the start, we were met and led to the Riad to relax for a few moments with fresh mint tea, and then Mohamed met us and explained we would go shopping for the fresh ingredients in the neighbouring market. He was the star of the show, just a friendly and kind man who loves to tell people about his city, and who likes to ask guests about themselves. We started cooking quickly after returning before resting on the rooftop terrace where our food was then served. Pro tip, have a light breakfast before starting. We were completely full afterwards. Also, have some smaller notes if you wish to tip the staff. Would recommend to anyone. And only one of the 3 dishes was technically not vegan. So it would be easy to do this vegan if you needed to.

Cooking lessons - We met Mohammed at the Amber and Spice Riad (very nice place) before heading to the Point of Sale. We enjoyed this part, with explanations from Mohammed and who tried to involve us as much as possible in the purchases and choice of vegetables. Back at the Riad, we were settled with tea and pastries to wait. The waiting time was quite long at that time with no indication of the expected waiting time. Then we started cooking around 1:00 pm. Fatima who was the chief unfortunately spoke only Arabic, so it was more difficult to communicate directly with her, although Mohammed was present for the translation. With the waiting time between the Point of Sale and the start of the kitchen, we finished cooking at 3pm, after which we were seated at a table, without drink included. We ended up asking for drinks, which took more than 20min to arrive. We also had to ask when we could eat, the dishes arrived at 15:50. For an activity that we expected to finish at 2pm, which during the activity was scheduled to finish at 4pm, we finished lunch at 4:30pm. In summary: the course itself well, although lacking explanation, but the waiting time during the activity itself made it a much longer than expected/estimated activity.
