Additional Information

As a connoisseur of Marseille’s coastal landscapes, I’ll guide you through a delightful day filled with fun and good spirits to explore the hidden gems of our shorelines.

Beginning our journey from Mucem on a sailboat, we’ll navigate towards the Bay of the Apes and the Rock Goudes. Our first destination in Marseille is a creek characterized by turquoise shallow waters, often storing some unexpected sights! We aim to reach by mid-day for a picnic and a swim in the brilliantly clear waters. Around 2:30 PM, we’ll steer back to the Friuli archipelago for a tour and subsequently stop at another creek, weather-permitting.

Our journey concludes at Port Frioul at 5 PM. From there on, it’s up to you. You could relish a sunset view on the island or board a shuttle boat back to Marseille straight away.

Beautiful sail and swim in the Mediterranean - The weather was great and the sail over to the island fantastic. Then jumping off into the Mediterranean and swimming around.

Not what we were expecting, and not what we paid for - The night before the trip I was contacted and told the meet up location changed due to the volume in the port on the mainland of Marseille. While this is not totally surprising due to the timing of the Olympic sailing events taking place there, but I would have expected the company to take this into account well in advance of our trip. The changing of the pickup location was last minute, so we had to rearrange our plans to account for a ferry trip to the Frioul port. Upon arrival we were unclear on where the boat was going to pick us up and we didn't know what the vessel looked like. Once we connected with our captain, it turns out that he too, was not expecting to have a trip that day. While our captain was very nice and accommodating, he was not prepared to host a group of 6 people. The description of the trip said the day would include beverages, and while we were provided coffee and wine, it felt more like we were drinking the captains personal stash of alcohol rather than a prepared offering of drinks. Our captain did not speak English very well, which made it challenging during our day out. He did take us to some secluded spots and allowed us plenty of time for swimming and exploring. That part of the trip was a good experience, but every other part was very disorganized and did not meet the expectations that I had for the day. I felt like booking through TripAdvisor should have offered some level of trusted experience, and I do not think they delivered for this trip. I feel we overpaid for the experience, and it was not well organized. I do not blame the captain, he did the best with what was thrown on him last minute, but we booked this trip WELL in advance, so I don't understand how it seemed "thrown together" in the end.

Cancelled and never notified intil.10 minutes after it was to start. - Horrible, it was cancelled 10 minutes after it was to have begun and the only was we knew was my constant texting to the operator. We were sent 30 minutes away from the original pick up location and there was no need for it. Overall very disappointed, we were looking forward to seeing the coast of Marseille.

Lamentable - Awful. I strongly advise against it. The day before leaving Philippe contacts me and informs me that the big sail is out of service because torn but that it will go with the little one. He explains having bought it on the right corner because significantly cheaper!!! So we didn't progress compared to the other sailboats. So we couldn't go into the creeks. So we just made 1 stop in Friuli. Sailing boat in bad condition, disappointing aperitif and finally we learn that his activity is not skipper but boat rental only. As a result he could not take us back to the dock at Mucem because he is being watched and we disembarked elsewhere and came back...by bus at our expense. A real catastrophe... To avoid absolutely!!!!

Had none - We were scheduled to go on the Sea Beauty at the Mercy of the Wind on June 24 at 10 am. We went to the platform behind the Museum as required, 1/2 hour early to make the boat. The boat never showed, and I was vigilant in looking for it. My husband is handi-capped from stroke and his left side is not useable. He uses a walker. I walk with a cane also. This was not easy for either of us but we managed. We were most disappointed when the boat never showed. Please credit back our $262.00 we spent
