An incredible outing - even in the pouring rain! - This tour was an excellent way to squeeze The Lake District into my family's Liverpool vacation. I felt like we truly got a feel for the beauty and history of the region with each of our stops (I could have stayed for hours in each stop, but completely understand the brevity based on how many places we were able to see!). We weren't lucky with the weather, but it was beautiful nonetheless - I even think the overcast skies and rain added to the atmosphere. David was an excellent guide, making sure we had toilet breaks along the way and giving very clear instructions on how much time we had in each spot and where we'd be meeting him. We had to skip one of the lookout spots listed because of the bad weather conditions, but David brought us to Wray Castle instead, which I absolutely loved. If you're looking to see The Lake District in a day, I very highly recommend this tour!

David the driver/guide, was a gentleman. - David was polite, very helpful and an excellent driver. He always asked if the van temperature was comfortable. Outstanding scenery and villages. Tip: for lunch at the boat eat a sandwich from the vendors as the Lakeside restaurant was just average. David planned comfort stops, so our trip was 10 hours. Which was understandably ok with us.

Perfect itinerary to see the Lake District from Liverpool - This was a very enjoyable itinerary - and also very ambitious as it offered transportation to the Lake District, a boat ride on one of the lakes, a train ride in an old train and marvelous scenery with several stops. It was everything you'd want in a tour. The one fly in the ointment is that the air conditioning was not working in the van although the driver tried everything he could so. While it was a warm, sunny day that was much preferable over a cold, rainy day. I liked that it was from Liverpool which entered into our choice to stay in Liverpool, which turned out to be a cool city.

Lake District tour was a wonderful “must see” trip! - The Mountain Goat tour was a full and fantastic day visiting the Lake District with our wonderful tour guide, Scott! He delivered so much information about the locations as we traveled from Liverpool to the Lake District. We enjoyed our day with a cruise on Lake Windermere followed by a relaxing ride on a steam engine train. Scott then gathered our tour group and showed us some of the local wonders! We value a tour guide who kind and considerate and that was Scott. It was a great day visiting the Lake District!

We have seen a lot of... - We have seen a lot of places, which is nice, but the downside was that there was very little time spent in each. Colin was our guide, very helpful and ready to answer any questions we had. The only thing I was missing is the story telling / tour guiding part. There was a very short introduction to Liverpool at the beginning but then almost no story telling at all about the places we went to, just very basic introductory data. All in all we had a nice time. :)

Lake District tour with cruise and steam railway ride. - Tour guide David was very knowledgeable, helpful and polite. Had to detour due to an accident on M6 which made our stops slightly shorter than advised in the tour description. Places we visited were beautiful and breathtaking. Really enjoyed the lake cruise and steam railway ride from Lakeside. One negative point is that the tour was supposed to be for maximum 12 persons but we were a total of 16. This resulted in a very crammed van.

Tours that should be avoided by those who do not speak English - I joined in late August, but unfortunately it rained and I was disappointed. Also, the Guides are native speed in English so you can hardly hear them. I couldn't hear the explanation of taking the train for a section after the cruise, so I almost missed it and got a cold sweat. The organizers should at least hand out a detailed schedule on paper.
