Three Great Experiences - It was nice to see various neighborhoods in Naples. All of Pompeii was fantastic with a great guide. Climbing Mt. Vesuvius was amazing!

For those adding Vesuvius, great option but some notes… - We did the Naples tour first with pick-up, followed by the walking tour of Pompeii. Guide was great, and pick-up/drop off worth it. We also did Vesuvius after the Pompeii walking tour. I would note if you wish to add this, the bus will take you most of the way up. We then had about an hour and 40 minutes to walk approx. 2 km to the top and back down on our own. This could be a lot for some. Trail is crowded with shops and beverages for sale at the top, however. Great way to experience a great site.

I recommend the company... - I recommend the company through which I arranged this trip. Nice guide, well and clearly speaking. I learned a lot of interesting facts and gained knowledge. Everything very well organized, meal included. Pickup from the place and delivery to the place. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Fantastico! - We had a great day with our tour guides Francesca (Pompeii) and Alex(Vesuvius). Both guides were very knowledge, clear and witty. The bus journey wasn’t long and the sights were explained along the way. Our tour also offered lunch which I’m really glad we included! We were given a choice of margarita pizza, spaghetti or macaroni pasta with vegetables and a soft drink/ water. The food was delicious, especially considering they had catered for such a large party! Just make sure you bring your sunscreen and a hat!

You will get more than your exercise for the day - Bring your walking shoes and make sure you are in shape as the walk to see the volcano is a steep uphill climb. Pompeii is more gentle but still needs proper walking shoes no high or even low heals

Okay - Okay tour. Nothing amazing. Pick up was at a hotel 2 min walk from ours. Was slightly confusing with multiple tours running in conjunction with each other but nothing a bit of patience couldn’t fix. Didn’t get to see all of Pompeii but it’s a big, crowded and hot place so what we got was ample. Lunch was fantastic a huge while pizza each or spaghetti and a drink. Vesuvius is a short but intense climb, wear sturdy shoes and make it all the way to the last station. Overall day was good, guides were great.

Value for money - For other travelers: do take note that PNS will only contact you a day before your tour to confirm the timing. I did not know this prior and had to call. Tour wise, I thought it was a small group of 10 but we were subsequently joined by other tour groups so you can imagine the size of the group touring Pompeii to be about 40? It was hard to navigate around but Gino our guide kept his cool and directed us. For mt versuvio, it will be best to check the weather before going on this tour. If it’s cloudy, you may not get to see the bay of Naples. Wear comfortable walking shoes and a jacket as it can be cold up in the mountain. The best take away of this tour was meeting like-minded travelers and sharing travel stories

Not well planned itinerary. Exhausting!! - We have done Viator tours in the past so opted for this one without thinking. Overall the trip was done very professionally and was kept on time BUT the trip itinerary was not good at all. Only thing we remember is how exhausted we were feeling as if we will get a heat stroke!! Walking 3-3.5 hrs in scorching heat during peak afternoon in Pompeii was just too much. We wondered why they didn’t utilize the entire morning in going first to Pompei when it would have been cooler? Instead we lost a lot of time in Naples city tour. Secondly, one guide with nearly 15 of us was too many. It was difficult to catch up. There should be a shorter version of the tour for those who do not have the stamina or that much interest to hear so many details. At Vesuvius we were given 1 hr 15 min to climb up and come back that too at the end of an already exhausting and extremely hot day. It was just not a well planned itinerary. Viator should seriously think about starting early with a shorter version of the Pompei tour and finish Vesuvius early too.

The good, the bad, and the ugly - The good: Our Naples and Pompeii guide, Maria, was amazing. She interacted with the group and used humor and stories to bring Naples and Pompeii to life. We loved having her as a guide. The bad: The time it took to get the large group organized to start the Pompeii tour was ridiculous - a total hot mess. There are hundreds of people gathered together and parceled out into smaller groups. Lots of wasted time. The lunch was good but rushed and the wait staff was rude. The ugly: Due to the length of time we spent at Pompeii, it only left a little over an hour to climb to the top of Vesuvius. The climb is rigorous, and only a part of our family could complete the climb in the remaining time. There was no guide provided by the tour and no guides within the park that we could see. The tour company did go out of its way to provide a separate van for us to get to Vesuvius or else we would have missed that part of the tour before having to get back to the cruise ship. We would have rated this lower if Maria wasn't so good.

Interesting and informative - Knowledgeable guide who provided interesting and informative information about the ruins of Pompeii and Naples. The only problem was with the earphones provided as there was a constant crackle that could not be fixed. As a result, our group only caught half of what was said. The hike up Mount Vesuvius is not for those with health problems as it is a one mile uphill traverse (and then downhill which is easier) - although the view is fantastic if you make it all the way to the top.
