Highlights
  • Parador Turistico San Pedro - Free time to find something to eat and stretch your legs.
  • San Miguel de Allende - In our drive, we will see the landscape of Central Mexico. Before arriving to San Miguel, we will stop so you can take panoramic photos of San Miguel de Allende.

Once in San Miguel de Allende, we will have an hour and a half guided tour where we will get to know the main attractions of the city such as the symbolic parish of San Miguel Arcángel, the garden, Chapel of Jimmy Ray, the American Hispanic Academy, the Temple of San Francisco, the Casa de Allende and the Civic Plaza. We will visit the Handicraft Market, where you can buy typical handicrafts, elaborated mainly with papier maché, metals, blown glass.

  • El Mirador - This is the perfect place to take your next favorite picture. The incredible view allows you to recognize the Parroquia de San Miguel Arcángel and the dome and tower of the Templo de San Francisco.
  • El Jardin - Beautiful garden square, with cafes, boutiques and an emblematic pink parish with a Gothic facade.
  • Parroquia de San Miguel Arcangel - Parroquia de San Miguel Arcángel is a 17th-century neo-Gothic church famous for its tall pink spires and majestic ornate sanctuary.
  • Ignacio Allende House (Casa de Ignacio Allende) - It was in this house where Ignacio Allende, one of the most notorious heroes of Mexico’s Independence, was born and raised. At the end of 1810 the house was confiscated by the viceregal government; months before, from there the first insurgent army left for its first formal battle.
  • Church of San Francisco (Iglesia de San Francisco) - Classifying the architecture style of the church of San Francisco is a real challenge. One expert says that its facade is Baroque, another pure Churrigueresque, one more Rococo, and yet another belief that it is a combination of all of them. In any case, the facade facing the small square of San Francisco has detailed quarry work, lavishly embellished.
  • Plaza Cívica - Originally built in 1555, this square was the center of activity for the population, it was the market and meeting place in its time. Today the statue of Ignacio Allende is the protagonist of the square.
  • Parque Benito Juarez - Peaceful park with brightly colored flowers, winding paths, shaded benches, and a playground.
  • Mercado de Artesanias - A colorful craft market, with stalls of hand-embroidered shawls, decorative pottery, and silver jewelry.

A great week spent in San Miguel de Allende, GTO, Mexico - We spent a week walking the streets, visiting shops, parks, churches, and enjoying the historical and architectural aspects of San Miguel de Allende. The cobblestone, bricks and blocks that make up all their streets and sidewalks are beautiful! The town is extremely clean! Although very hilly in most areas, we managed to walk even in the afternoon rains. We enjoyed breakfast at Hortus in the main square and at Umaran Cafe! Loved the restraurant Buganbilia's and Serena Gorda with its lovely lighted and planted covered patio seating area. The people of SMA are friendly, happy, and are welcoming to visitors! We will definitely go back to see more. We used BajioGo.Com for a shuttle service to and from the Leon airport. They were excellent and on-time.

Rich History of San Miguel de Allende - I recently took a day tour of San Miguel de Allende with Yair as our guide and Rafael as our driver, and it was an enriching experience. Yair's knowledge of the rich history of San Miguel de Allende was truly impressive. He brought the past to life with engaging stories and detailed explanations, making each stop along the tour fascinating. Rafael's driving was smooth and safe, ensuring a comfortable journey throughout the day. The tour was well-organized, and the itinerary covered all the major highlights of San Miguel de Allende. Thank you, Yair and Rafael, for a memorable experience!

Informational Tour of a Beautiful City - Beautiful city and informational tour. Alicia was great at her job and loved that she did a bilingual tour. Learned a lot about the city for the first time. I do wish there was something to do in addition to free time/wandering after the main tour (aka bonus content for those who want to learn even more, etc.) I do wish we got a heads up that we needed cash for the public transportation bus transfer (because the charter bus is too wide to fit the narrow streets) and for public restroom. Also just be mindful of the distance from CDMX and how traffic might affect your return.

Drive was too lone. - Was hoping for a guided tour once in the city. Pretty much just had to research on my own. Guide Adda was not around in case of questions. Said to meet back at a certain time only.

Badly managed - First of all, If you are saying we have an English speaking guide please ensure the guide is English speaking. Bernardo was a great Native speaker and He was amazing but he was truly struggling to communicate in English. There felt like there was so much to see but couldn't be seen or experienced because we weren't getting the right advice or instructions. The trip was overall just about ok. Wish it were planned a bit better because I feel a lot could have been covered effectively but ended up being a bit slip shod because of the inefficiencies detailed above. More potential for an efficiently planned trip even more so for a beautiful place like San Miguel
