Exploring the Wild Wonders of Zoo Miami
When I heard about the chance to explore global wildlife at Zoo Miami, I knew it was a must-visit for our family. With the promise of up-close animal encounters and a day full of adventure, I couldn’t wait to see what awaited us.
A Wild Adventure Awaits
Our family trip to Zoo Miami was nothing short of a wild adventure! As a family travel writer, I’m always on the lookout for activities that offer both excitement and education, and Zoo Miami delivered on both fronts. We decided to take public transport, which was an adventure in itself. For under $6 per person, we got a day pass that allowed us to explore Miami’s public transport system. It took us over an hour to get there, but the savings were worth it, and we got to see parts of Miami we might have otherwise missed. Once we arrived, the zoo was just a short walk from the bus stop, or you could call the zoo for a pick-up, which is a great option for families with little ones.
Up Close and Personal with Wildlife
Zoo Miami is a sprawling 340-acre park that offers a chance to see animals from all over the world. We opted for the enhanced package, which included the monorail, a boat trip, and the opportunity to feed giraffes and rhinos. Feeding a giraffe was a highlight for my kids, and seeing their faces light up as they fed these gentle giants was priceless. The zoo’s design allows for some incredible up-close encounters with animals, with viewing areas that bring you inches away from the wildlife, separated only by glass. It was fascinating to see animals like jaguars and orangutans so close, and the kids loved learning from the zoo volunteers who shared interesting facts about the animals.
A Day to Remember
Despite the heat, which had some animals seeking shade, we had a fantastic day. The zoo offers plenty of shaded areas and restrooms, which were spotless, making it easy to take breaks and stay comfortable. The food options were varied and reasonably priced, with everything from slushies to soft drinks and fast food. We ended our day with a pedalo ride, which was a fun way to cool off and see the zoo from a different perspective. Zoo Miami is a must-see for families visiting the area, offering a day of fun and learning that won’t break the bank. It’s a place where memories are made, and I can’t wait to share more family-friendly adventures with you all!
