The best train ride in the world - Day to take an iconic tour with @citywonderstours through the Swiss Alps on board the Bernina Red Train and free time to explore the cities of St. Moritz, Switzerland, and of Tirano, Italy The first stop of this tour is the heart of the Swiss Alps: the charming St. Moritz, with the mountains covered with ice and glacial lakes. Until you reach the city that is synonymous with luxury, the roads reveal a unique and lush nature. Being in St. Moritz is contemplating a unique experience with its pedestrian streets and luxurious shops and fine restaurants. St.Moritz is the cradle of winter tourism in the Alps and one of the most famous destinations in Europe. The origin of this city dates back to 1,500 years ago. The city is at 1,856 meters high and is the first station of the Bernina Red Train. Ice lakes, unique mountains and spectacular villages. This is the Bernina Red Train train ride. The Bernina Red Train is a symbol of Swiss engineering and design. The route is a UNESCO World Heritage Site Some curiosities about this tour you need to get on the list of things to do in Europe! It is the tallest in the world and the only Swiss railway to cross the Alps. It is 61 km long and was completed in 1910. The train ride starts at St. Moritz, where we started the tour with the City Wonders Tours at 1,821 meters high. The route goes to the city of Tirano, Italy. Cruising the cities of Switzerland on the train is to experience unique sensations. It's breathtaking. The route offers panoramic and unforgettable views. Undoubtedly, the most amazing seasons are those that cross the ice, creating a unique feeling. The journey to the ice begins with the Lej Nair station. Here, there is the incomparable Lake Bianco, which gets this name because of the white color. From here the waters go to the Black Sea and the Adriatic Sea After the train ride, it is time to meet Tirano, considered a medieval jewel. The historic streets offer the best of gastronomy like ice cream, fireworks and a special coffee break Take a look at the main tourist spot of the city: the Basilica Madonna di Tirano. Legend has it that the Virgin Mary appeared in 1504 and promised that if they built a church in the place where the plague had appeared it would disappear. And after they built the church, the plague disappeared. It's time to keep those amazing memories. The City Wonders tour was fantastic as we uncovered the city of St. Moritz, in Switzerland, we took the train on the Bernina Red Train and took a break in Tirano. It was a whole day walk. And we go back to Milan! It's impossible not to fall in love.

Nice views from the train but the ticketing/seating process was frustrating. - The views were great, but when buying the ticket they don't tell you you need to purchase a seat reservation as well, and actually the views were better on the train from Zermatt to St. Moritz. Get a first class ticket; much more enjoyable and fewer people.

Nice train ride. - Snow capped mountains and train ride was wonderful. As for the rest of the trip… Felt rushed at each stopping point, half hour is not enough time to do anything. St Moritz was very disappointing nothing pretty in fact there was construction work everywhere. A steep walk from station to town.
