- ATV Reykjavik - This quad biking tour takes you to see the Northern Lights by the beautiful Hafravatn lake and Mount Hafrafell. If it is possible to go to the mountain you will also have a great view over Reykjavik, Mosfellsbær and other towns close by. We only go if there is possibility for clear sky. Join this tour for a unique experience of driving an ATV at night to hunt for the Northern Lights. Follow a guide along rugged trails through the Icelandic countryside and discover top natural sites of interest including Hafravatn Lake and Mt. Hafrafell. Enjoy panoramic views over to nearby towns such as Mosfellsbær. If we have to wait for the lights we do starchasing and look for “shooting stars” to make the wish for endless whisses. In this tour you can go Single Ride or Double Ride. Double Ride is the standard rate and that means two people are on each quad. You can select “Single Ride” in the booking progress and pay a little extra if you dont want to share the Quad and go single ride to the tour.

From these locations, relish in breathtaking views of Reykjavik, Mosfellsbær and nearby towns. As we wait for the aurora borealis to appear, we can star gaze and maybe even spot a shooting star to wish upon. Explore the thrill of night time ATV riding while seeking the Northern Lights.
We can arrange to collect you at any hotel in the Reykjavik area, if possible. Reykjavik city, however, has designated non-pickup zones for tourists downtown, so we collect from specific tourist bus stops in these areas. Rest assured, the nearest Tourist Bus stop is typically not very far.
If you prefer to meet us, our base is a short 20-minute commute from downtown Reykjavik.
- Bring Phone with good camera with you. The newest phones can capture the Northern Lights but not the old one. We recommend Iphone 11 or better, the new Google phone and other with night mode or possibilities of few seconds open shutter mode.
- Drivers need full drivers license to drive the ATV´s. Passenger can be from 6 years old.
- We recommend to wear all your layers, warm shoes and socks, have handwarmers and footwarmers and scarf or good buff for your neck. It can be cold on the Quads.

Great tour! - Great tour! The guide worked hard to ensure we got to see some Northern Lights. They were communicative from the beginning, including adjusting the departure time so we got the best window. 10/10 would book through them again!

Nothern Lights in Iceland Bucket List - Done - Absolutely amazing small group experience. Very accommodating, the company picked us up at the hotel and took us to the location where we added additional layers to stay warm and jumped aboard the Quads. We circled around a lake and up into a mountain stopping along the way to take in the stunning aurora. The Quads were very comfortable and just a unique way to experience this natural phenomenon!

Incredible experience - We got an absolutely amazing show of the lights. It was the best part of our trip by far! It was foggy the day that we booked but we were taken up a mountain which was above the fog line so we got the coolest view of the city as well!

Amazing Experience! - This was such a great experience! Our tour guide was so nice and just made it a great experience. We got to see the northern lights immediately (we got lucky) and had a nice night of driving up the mountain in the ATVs to see more. The experience was amazing seeing the city from the mountain and seeing the northern lights. I would highly recommend this tour.

AMAZING NORTHERN LIGHTS TOUR - I recommend the Northern Lights Tour to everyone! Was such an incredible experience driving the ATVs and most importantly going up the mountain to see the Northern lights! Björgvin was so fun and amazing, thank you so much for the tour! I loved it so so much :)

Fantastic Experience - We were picked up right on time from our collection point. The van had an ATV Reykjavik sign placed at the side window which was great as the bus stop was very busy with other night tours. It ended up just being my partner and I on the whole tour so we were really impressed that it still went ahead. I knew it would be a small group tour but this was a great addition just being the two of us.
The ATVs are brilliant- high spec, fast, easy to manoeuvre but it was a little difficult to see the various controls with it being dark however this caused us no major issue.
The sky was so clear, which made for some beautiful pictures of the night sky. So many stars out! The Aurora wasn't very strong however an arc was still picked up by camera- both iphone & DSLR. It was great to get out of the city and light pollution! We traveled to various spots on road and off, high and low to search for the lights. If you're looking for something fun to do while searching for aurora instead of sitting on a bus for hours, then this is definitely it.
I'm not going to attempt to spell our guide (the owners) name, however I highly recommend and want to say thanks for making our tour very special. I have no hesitation to book this tour again on our next trip to this beautiful country, and would also love to do the tour during the day too to see beautiful scenery. A 10/10 experience.

Very Fun!! A great add on to your trip - Our tour guide was so kind and made sure we had the best time on our ATV tour. Even thought the weather wasn’t the best with on and off rain and a cloudy sky, we didn’t have the luck to see the Aurora. But our guide still made sure the evening was fun and thrilling. Taking an ATV late at night up a large mountain is something everyone should try! Especially those who love some adventure and adrenaline.

ATVing was so fun and relaxing! - Such a cool experience. Our tour guide Helga was so great. Even though we did not get to see the Northern Lights (the moon was too bright) it was enjoyable. She told us a lot of interesting facts about Iceland that I will continue to remember.
