The ultimate successful team experience! - The climb was the central element of a 19-day combined climb/safari trip for my son and myself, arranged by Sated Ventures. From the very start, Altezza performed with utmost professionalism, starting with careful checking of all gear and level of preparation. Pre-trip instructions were clear and concise. All staff were very accommodating, friendly and knowledgable.
During the climb, a team of 21, including guides, guides-in-training, chef, camp coordinators, gear specialists and porters, working as a well-oiled machine, ensured our safety, comfort, nutrition (food was delicious and abundant) and climbing fitness with Hb-oxygen saturation capacity mearurements throughout the climb.
Chief Guide Vitalis (Victor) Mahonge and Asst. Guide Bosco Liweuli were extremely personable, friendly and accessible professionals, while leading the full team in all aspects of the expedition. It was obvious that they had the full confidence and cooperation of all team members and were very well liked by all.
With weather ranging from misty fog, rain, hail, snow and clear skies, we were very comforable under their guidance, climbing a range of terrain from easy ascent to challenging scaling of steep rock falls. The tempo of our ascent was carefully adjusted to our condition and acclimatization to altitude and, while both physically and mentally challenging, we were easily wrapped up in the positive team spirit of achievement.
Capped by the success of reaching the Uhuru Peak Summit, both my son and I felt that this adventure was a momentous experience, that was entirely made possible and enjoyable by the Altezza Team. We made many new friends among the team members, and we plan to stay connected with them going forward.
We are delighted to recommend Altezza to anyone planning to climb Mount Kilimanjaro. The timing of our own adventure, at the onset of the rainy season, made for a typical mountain weather experience (..if you don’t like the weather, just wait five minutes..), but also allowed us to enjoy the climb while at a very low climbing traffic level, enhancing the experience.
All in all, a wonderful adventure - THANK YOU ALTEZZA!

Book with Altezza and you won’t regret it - Just book with Altezza, and the rest will take care of itself.
From the moment my friend and I touched down in Tanzania to our final Altezza goodbye, we were stunned by the care, respect and joy we received.
Even after reading how positive the reviews were, we were blown away by the experience, from the planning to the personal touch.
From Anton who picked us up at the airport, Catherine who came into town to organise a doctor’s visit for me before the trek started, to every single one of the 57-strong crew who took control of everything on the mountain, we did not have a single interaction with an Altezza employee that didn’t exceed expectations.
The company has truly cultivated a special team that therefore makes every Altezza climber feel special.
We were part of a 12-person group that had a wide mix of ages and physical abilities, but we stuck together on summit night and every single person made it the top, which is a huge credit to the guides.
We reached the roof of Africa, and will remember that forever - but we will also remember the people we met, from the crew on the ground, to those who led the way on the mountain.
Oh, and the food! If you think you’re going to lose weight after a week on the mountain, think again! The meals are impossibly good and will keep you warm and energised for the physical demands of Kili.
We can’t thank Altezza enough, and will recommend the company to anyone who will listen to us!
P.S. You won’t regret booking a portable toilet.

One of the best experiences of my life - This is my first ever review on TripAdvisor, but the service from Altezza was so incredible I couldn’t not leave a review. If you are at all thinking about a Kilimanjaro adventure, I cannot recommend them highly enough. I literally cannot think of a single thing I would change about our experience with this company and their incredible staff. They became friends in seven short days. You will not be disappointed.

Amazing Kili climb with Altezza - My husband and I recently did a Kili climb with Altezza via the 7-day Machame route. We opted for a private tour, accompanied by a crew of 26 members. We had an incredible time and made it to the top, and couldn't have done it if not for the support of the whole team, who really took care of us, including preparing for and serving us delicious meals, teaching us simple words in Swahili, keeping us warm at night with the hot water bottles (with the cute bunny sleeve no less!), making sure we had warm water for washing our hands, face, and brushing our teeth every morning, afternoon and night, locating the perfect spot for our tents, meticulously maintaining our private toilets, cheering and chanting on the long summiting night.. the list goes on.. but to top it all, making us feel like a family. We will never forget and will be forever grateful for such a once-in-a-lifetime experience.

The best managed & safest tours on Kilimanjaro - Altezza all the way! - I really would like to pass on my feedback to Altezza and the guides/porter who looked after us on our trip. I was truly blown away by how well everything worked logistically, how well we were looked after from start to finish, and how amazing the guides/porters were - the porters really are the unsung heroes. The tent/camp setup was great, the food was fantastic and far better than I thought it would be, and finally the support and encouragement throughout was top level. Albert was an amazing chief guide, very attentive, took the medical checks seriously and led from the front. John was fantastic, very encouraging and reminding us all the time that success for us (walkers) made them happy. Joseph was great at looking after individuals if they were struggling and was always there to lend a hand. Rayson was very calm, always making sure everyone was ok, whilst always being positive and ensuring we were enjoying ourselves. Lastly Kelvin was just amazing, he made sure nobody was left on their own, and he was genuinely a great person and was very open to talking about his personal life and the life of a guide/porter.
On summit night, I saw many other tour groups with only 2-4 guides per group. On summit night, we had at least one guide per person - this was a real credit to Altezza and how you operate. Safety was always paramount.
Worth every penny you pay, and Altezza is not the most expensive tour group either.
The whole setup really was commendable - I recommend Altezza to anyone who is thinking of climbing Kili as the only choice you need to consider!

Right from the pre-boarding your guidance kept us well informed to plan the trip properly.
On arrival and stay at Aishe Machame was excellent. Tranquil outset of the Aishi Machame hotel was perfect for calming down the mind and to get sound rest prior to the expedition.
The expedition support team exceeded my expectations by all means. Guides and support staff were approachable and were always willing to make our expedition comfortable and successful.
Climbing teams safety and wellbeing was the utmost priority of the Altezza team.
1-1 support staff during the summit day was cherry on the top as it helped all of our expedition team to summit successfully and get down safely.

Amazing climb and safari! - Climbing Mt Kilimanjaro (and reaching the summit) was an unforgettable, once in a lifetime experience! It would not have been possible without the incredible support and encouragement of our Altezza guides (Albert, Rayson, Joseph, Kelvin and John) and our 50 amazing porters. This wonderful crew worked tirelessly guiding us up the mountain, conducting twice daily medical checkups, carrying our duffel bags and private toilets, setting up camp, feeding us, providing us with water, and looking after our individual needs. There are not enough words in the dictionary to convey our gratitude. Asante sana! If Mt Kilimanjaro is on your bucket list, Altezza Travel is the way to go. The service and personal care are outstanding.
Our 7 day Machame climb was followed by a 4 day Safari in Tarangire, the Ngorongoro Crater and the Serengeti, completely organized by Altezza. Again, our guides (Fidelis and Khalid) were top notch. They were friendly, knowledgeable and patient with our barrage of questions! The accommodations and food were spectacular. Thank you Altezza for making our trip to Tanzania a most pleasurable adventure.

An unforgettable trip made possible by an unforgettable team! - The trip was amazing. We saw amazing things and met amazing people from our group to the team from Altezza. The team looked after us incredibly well, having health checks daily and always making sure to check on us. Though the climb was tough, the experience and expertise of the guides helped us through the journey which we couldn’t have completed without them. Alongside the guides, the rest of the crew made our stay as comfortable as possible with the camp always being set up immediately and the food being very good, giving us enough energy. They were also able to accommodate my friend who has celiac disease and provide her with enough gluten free food and variety. The spirit that the entire crew from Altezza brought made the trip unforgettable and made even the hard parts manageable.
