Amazing day trip from Nairobi - I did a full day trip with Patrick as my driver who took me from Nairobi to Hell's Gate and then onto Lake Naivasha and back. Patrick picked me up on time and was an excellent driver, navigating the busy streets of Nairobi. Along the way Patrick chatted about lots of Kenya history and interesting facts. We stopped at a viewpoint of the great rift valley and had the opportunity to purchase souvenirs (but there was no pressure to purchase). We arrived at Hell's Gate on time and there I met my guide Reagan for a bike tour of Hell's Gate. Reagan was a very knowledgeable about the park and the wildlife within it and he was an excellent guide. Reagan then took me to walk through the Njorowa Gorge (this has only just reopened following a prolonged closure). The gorge was fascinating and again, Reagan had lots of knowledge about the surroundings. Reagan also took lots of photos for me, which, as a solo traveller, was much appreciated. I met up again with Patrick who drove me to a local hotel restaurant where we ordered food. We took a 1 hour boat ride on Lake Naivasha whilst the food was, cooked. We saw many many birds, hippos and also went to look at crescent island and the many wildlife on there. The food at the restaurant was very nice and reasonably priced. We then made the journey back to Nairobi arrrivng back around 5pm, again, Patrick was an excellent driver and I felt very safe. Overall I would give the tour 10/10 and both of the guides were excellent.

Great one day trip but be ready to cycle 8km! - Patrick was a fantastic companion on the whole trip. He brought us from the hotel to Hell’s gate. We had some delays in the trip but he was nice to bring us back in peak hour traffic. At hells gate,we met Victor who was a terrific young chap. He was very smiley and patient with us while we rode slowly on our bicycles. Patrick was helpful to provide tips with anything we asked about Nairobi. Highly recommended!

Amazing tour and guide! - WOW!! What an amazing experience. As a female traveling alone, I was very apprehensive to book this tour. My tour guide Issac was the most profesional, knowledgeable, amiable and helpful guy! He made me comfortable after the first 5 minutes of meeting him! The company made sure and communicated with me about tour details before the tour. Highly recommend Issac!!

The perfect day with a perfect guide - We had an amazing tour. In Hells Gate we drove 20km our bikes and it was great, we saw a lot of animals and went to the gourge. Later in the day we had a boat ride around the Crescent Island where we saw a couple of hipos and other animals. Our driver was Isaac and he answered all our question and made our experience even better. We highly recommend African Beast Tours and for this tour ask specifically for Isaac 😊

Full fun day with pro organisation - This was such a wonderful day trip, beautifully organised in two of the most beautiful spots I've been. Apart from hell's gate, the cycling with the wild animals, the beautiful landscapes and gorgeous Naivasha, what made this super special are the people. My driver Nuru was an incredible gentleman and guide from start to finish. Picked up on the minute, drove superbly, patiently explained things to me and I feel like I have a new friend. Kennedy my cycling guide was superb too, patient and we had a great laugh together.

I felt very safe with his good driving and having great English meant I could enjoy interesting conversation throughout the trip. A great combo visiting Hells Gate by bike and Crescent Island with lots of variety in landscape and bird and wildlife. The guides for each activity gave varying knowledgeable insights. I can highly recommend this tour

If you only have limited time, go for this outstanding 3-in-1 tour. The Crescent Island Walk is HIGHLY recommended. - This tour is definitely for those with a lot of energy. You will wake up at 6 am and get back at 6 pm, the 12hrs in between is pure amazement (and some legwork 🚵). Nuru was my driver for the day. He is so very kind and funny. He took me to all the locations where I had different tour guides accompanying me, and kept checking in if I was doing well on the way. The Hells Gate tour is beautiful but also quite a workout so I recommend eating well in the morning and carry sun protection and plenty of water. The bike trip itself is around 2.5hr back and forth, and you take a walk for 1hr in between. My tour guide was super kind and knowledgeable. He even helped pushed my bike for the last few uphill meters on the way back because my legs were almost giving up 😅. Lake Naivasha was also stunning, and the boat ride was very enjoyable. I didn't see as many birds as I wanted to though. And although I saw that the Hells Gate + Naivasha day tour is very popular, I HIGHLY recommend this one with Crescent Island Walk as well because you can get so much closer to the animals there (3 meters away), and it only takes an hour extra. I booked directly via the website, and the company was very quick to respond and we arranged everything swiftly without hassle. They also have the best price there. Highly recommended!

Great opportunity to enjoy nature at its best - This was the second trip we took with African Beast Tours and Safaris after our exceptional trip to Masai Mara Park. Harrison, our driver picked us from the hotel on time and drove us to Hell’s Gate Park, while talking to us about the country, the people, the plantations, the towns. His driving was very good, we felt safe and we enjoyed the ride. At Hell’s Gate we waited for more than half an hour, without an explanation, for a guide. Eventually, we were taken inside the park (we did not cycle) by Gadafi, who, though clearly a senior and very experienced guide, was rather bored and uninterested. He spent quite a lot of time talking on his mobile and every other guide we met during our visit and his guiding was superficial. To be honest, one does not need much guiding in the park, but it would have been better if for the 1 hour (more or less) we spent in it, we knew what we were seeing and why. The walk was ok, even for the non-hiking experts and the view from the top over the gorge is wonderful. Since the gorge is not approachable, it would be better not to claim in the advertising material that it is. During the drive and the walk, we had the opportunity to see giraffes, zebras, antelopes and gazelles, all in a very nice environment. Once we met Harrison at the exit, we were driven to Lake Naivasha where at the restaurant by the shore we order a light lunch for after our visit to the lake and the Crescent island. After a short coffee break, we embarked on a small boat, with our captain, Nixon and Harrison. Nixon made us feel safe, showed us an amazing array of birds, stopped repeatedly to allow us to take pictures and took us to the island smoothly and safely while talking to us about the lake and the island. There, we met Mary, who took us on a nice walk among many animals that we have seen during our Masai Mara visit, but never approached. Here we had the opportunity to get close to ostriches, giraffes and baby giraffes, zebras, antelopes, monkeys, wildebeest, gazelles, and many many birds. Mary was knowledgeable, pleasant and polite. We took the boat back to the shore, and Nixon showed us more birds while taking us back safely and smoothly. After our brief lunch, Harrison drove us back to Nairobi where we arrived tired, but very happy with what we had seen and experienced.
