Arrive in Kathmandu (1,400 m)

Places Nepal Trek and Tours - A representative will be waiting for you outside Tribhuvan International Airport with a “Places Nepal Trek & Tours” sign. They will escort you to your hotel.

Fly to Lukla (2,804 m) or Drive to Manthali (4-6 hours) and Fly to Lukla, and Trek to Phakding (2,610 m) - 3 to 4 hours

Tenzing-Hillary Airport - Due to congestion at Kathmandu’s airport, flights to Lukla now depart from Manthali Airport in Ramechhap, a 5-6 hour drive from Kathmandu.

We will depart early to catch a 35-minute scenic flight from Kathmandu to Lukla (2,804 meters).

Upon arrival in Lukla, your guide will introduce you to the porters who will assist with your gear.

We will begin our trek by descending to the Dudh Kosi River and then follow the main trail to Phakding (2,610 meters). The walk is easy, and we will pass through the small village of Ghat (2,550 meters) before reaching Phakding.

Trek to Namche Bazaar (3,441 m) - 5 to 6 hours

Namche Bazaar - We will continue our trek along the river, crossing it several times on exciting suspension bridges adorned with prayer flags.

As we enter Sagamartha National Park, the trail becomes steeper, offering stunning views.

We will reach Namche Bazaar, a bustling Sherpa town with plenty of places to eat, stay, shop, and exchange money. It is the largest Sherpa settlement on the Everest trail.

Namche Bazaar Acclimatization Day

Sherpa Museum - We will spend a day in Namche Bazaar to adjust to the high altitude.

We will hike to a museum that showcases the traditional customs of the Sherpa people.

We will also hike up to Syangboche Airport and the Everest View Hotel, one of the world’s highest-located hotels.

From here, we will have incredible views of the Himalayas, including Mount Everest.

Trek to Tengboche (3,860 m) - 5 to 6 hours

Tengboche Gompa - Our trek continues alongside the rushing Dudh Koshi River, with incredible mountain views all around. By the time we reach Tengboche, nestled at 3,860 meters, we will be surrounded by breathtaking scenery.

Tengboche Monastery boasts incredibly ornate wall hangings, a towering 20-foot Buddha sculpture, and a unique collection of musical instruments and robes used by the Lamas.

Depending on our arrival time, we might witness a mesmerizing prayer ceremony in the morning or evening.

Trek to Dingboche (4,350 m) - 5 to 6 hours

Dingboche - After soaking up the beauty of Tengboche, we will take a scenic descent to Debuche. There, we will cross another thrilling suspension bridge over the Imja Khola river.

Our path continues upwards, leading us through a landscape dotted with thousands of mani stones (prayer stones) before reaching the charming Sherpa village of Pangboche.

The trail then climbs steadily to Dingboche, a quaint village with breathtaking views of Lhotse, Island Peak, and Ama Dablam. We will take our time on this ascent to ensure proper acclimatization to the increasing altitude.

Acclimatization Hike to Nangkartshang Peak (5,083 m) - 4 to 5 hours

Trek to Lobuche (4,910 m) - 5 to 6 hours

Lobuche - Today’s trek takes us along the edge of the mighty Khumbu Glacier. Keep an eye out for memorials dedicated to climbers who lost their lives on nearby peaks.

Be prepared for a steady climb as we approach Lobuche village, nestled at the foot of the towering Lobuche peak.

Due to the increasing altitude, some trekkers might experience shortness of breath. Take it slow and listen to your body.

Trek to Everest Base Camp (5,365 m) and return to Gorak Shep (5,180 m) - 7 to 8 hours

Everest Base Camp - Today’s trek is a challenging one, taking us along the Khumbu Glacier to the legendary Everest Base Camp at 5,365 meters. This is as close as you can get to Mount Everest without mountaineering gear.

During the spring, you might witness expedition teams preparing for their summit attempt. The view of the Khumbu Icefall from Base Camp is absolutely breathtaking. After taking it all in, we will return to Gorak Shep for the night.

Early morning hike to Kala Patthar (5,555) and trek back to Pheriche (4,200 m) - 7 to 8 hours

Kala Patthar - Today, we will tackle the challenging ascent to Mt. Kala Patthar, a small peak at 5,555 meters. This is one of the most demanding days of the trek, but the reward is incredible.

From the summit, you will be greeted by a breathtaking panorama of the Himalayas, including Mount Everest, the highest point on Earth, and other towering giants like Nuptse, Pumori, Chagatse, Lhotse, and more.

After enjoying the view, we will make a quick descent to Gorak Shep for a warm breakfast. Then, we will continue our trek down to Pheriche.
