On this journey, you’ll get to explore Karlstejn Castle, a remarkable Gothic stronghold in the Czech Republic that was established in 1348. This fortress, commissioned by Czech King and Roman Emperor Charles IV, served as a secure storage location for royal treasures, notably, Charles’s assembly of sacred artifacts and the crowning jewels of the Roman Empire. The castle sits enchantingly amidst lush forests, a stone’s throw away from the capital.

The castle’s location is atop a hill, approximately a 2 km walk from the parking area.
