Excellent Excursion! - This is a fun excursion! You will be hiking on an incline through the rainforest for about 45 minutes. Some people had to stop occasionally to catch their breath. It's mostly gravel and dirt. You will want comfortable water shoes with decent tread. It's mostly shaded. The natural water slides are fun, and the cliff diving was great. You will have to wear a helmet and PFD, even if you're a good swimmer. Lunch was a buffet style setup with chicken, pork, and veggies. We were provided with bottled water. Our van was comfortable and very well air conditioned. Our driver was cautious, unlike what we saw of the locals! On the way back to the meeting spot, we stopped at this little place that made hand rolled cigars and sold all sorts of Dominican things, including larimar. No pressure to buy, and they do negotiate on prices. Our cruise ship offered this same excursion at more than double the price. We were actually with that group the entire day! Bring some money, a towel, and water shoes.

Driver and River guide... - Driver and River guide were both great! Thanks guys. Could have done without the food and stop at a local shop but really no pressure to buy. Food was tasty although not a kid pleaser. Showing local plants was fun but coffee was too sweet with honey. Chocolate water with cinnamon was interesting but probably needed to offer an unsweetened option to really taste the ingredients if I was going to buy.

Perfectly Planned - We had a perfect day guided by Chocolaté with Edwin Tours. His love and passion for Dominican culture shined through. Communication was great. Very clear instructions for meet up and everything was planned well. We made it back to port with hours to spare so we were able to enjoy the port amenities as well.

Great experience!!! - Great experience!!! Well organized excursion and positive attitude from all the guides that were taking care of the visitors. Hiring a personal photographer is recommended and to us was worth the price of additional 55$ because otherwise it is practically impossible to capture photos given the fact that jumping and sliding into the pools of the waterfalls are part of the route. Our photographer Robin was funny and at the same time careful not to miss any moment that’s worth capturing. Buffet with typical food included in the price was good! Fruit, cocoa beans and coffee tasting on a specific place for 15-20 minutes on our way back to the port. Great overall experience with a lot of adrenaline! Totally recommend!!!

a very good tour - The tour was great. Sammy, the guide on the bus, was informative and one of the other guides went out of his way to carry someone else's stuff on the hike up. We were able to beat the rush from the cruise ship. Consider bringing a change of clothes, which you can leave on the bus. Unfortunately we only did four waterfalls due to the water level. The food at the buffet was delicious, but there's some guy policing the buffet saying that we are only allowed one plate of food. My daughter was sad about that since she didn't load up on her first plate. The store we stopped at was relatively interesting. The people there weren't pushy at all, in my opinion.

7 Waterfalls of Damajagua - There is a climb up many stairs to get to the top. Several rest stops along the way. The guides were fantastic. Booking the trip was super easy, I selected the hotel that i was staying at and the date and time for them to pick me up. Viator contacted me via WhatsApp and updated me with the contact name of the driver that was picking us up at our hotel. Sammy was our guide and he was very friendly and helpful. The falls were fantastic and a lot of fun to body surf and jump. After the falls, there was a delicious lunch served. Well done. I will use Viator again!!!

Bejilio was a 10/10 guide! - Bejilio picked us up right outside the cruise port on time, and we boarded his bus. We went on a 25-30 minute drive through the city and up to the Damajagua waterfall entrance. Booking this ticket was wonderful because Bejilio drove us up, got us fitted with life jackets and helmets, and we immediately got to join in to the waterfall activity without waiting in any lines like many other huge cruise groups had to do. Bejilio then stayed at the car area while we took our 2-hour waterfall adventure, which was awesome! About 30 minutes of hiking up but with enough rest stops to not exhaust yourself. A few awesome jumps and slides through the waterfalls, and then a nice easy walk back to the front, where Bejilio met us again and directed us to the buffet line for lunch. He sat with us and we got to talk to him, and he was very friendly and kind! After lunch, we changed to fresh clothes and then drove about 10-15 minutes to another stop, where a sweet group had us try hot cocoa, mango (amazing), guava, a cigar (and we got to practice rolling a cigar), and the native alcohol, mamajuana. All were fabulous! We then went inside to their little gift shop and found some goodies, mainly coffee grounds and a box of cigars. Bejilio then drove us another 10-15 minutes back to the cruise port. The entire experience was about 4.5-5 hours. We had a wonderful time and recommend highly! We got a selfie with Bejilio at the end. He was a wonderful guide and we just loved having someone drive us around and show us the ropes of the DR rather than a huge cruise excursion!

Not for people with bad knees, hip or back lol - Overall a good experience but definitely won’t book again. It’s way more strenuous than the ad describes. There is over an hour of walking up steep, muddy hills and unstructured “steps” that are made of rocks and mud. -J.B.
